I've had a Penumbra-like dream multiple times, including last night. even more terrifing when it's yourself being chased.

I assume like many people i've had my fair share of dreams about Tetris. It's always then I know to take a haitus from it for a while. It always tends to be a bad dream too, I keep waiting for the long block but it never comes that illusive bastard.
Same, although in my case, it's been Lumines lately. So many falling blocks...

As to date, I've had dreams of Battlefield 3, both Mass Effect games, Dead Space 1, Skyrim, Sins of a Solar Empire and several others. With the exception of Dead Space and SSE, I became the PC of the games, adjusting to first-person POV when necessary. In Sins, I was only playing a normal game, but in my head.

Dead Space was the creepiest. I was in my normal day-clothes, no weapons, but had still managed to get to the planet at the end. Then The Hunter showed up. I'll leave it as the only time I'd ever had a nightmare about a videogame, and that the dream was on par with the rest of the game, when it came to defenseless civilians...

When I was younger I had this game called spy vs spy, I had lots of fun with it, untill I had this dream in wich I was one of the spies walking down one of the halls leading to another spy's spawning place, but instead of that there was something I can't even remember anymore, except that it scared me to death and that it was red. I don't think I ever touched that game again. *shudder*

TF2 and Star Wars Battlefront, both after spending at least a day doing almost nothing else.

The TF2 one was also weird because it acted as a sequel to a dream I'd had a few days earlier, too.
yeah, sometimes i think that happens, though unfortunately i am plagued by a severe lack of ability to remember anything from my dreams. only a few really really vivid ones stay with me for a couple of days, but the details fade and fade, and now i can only vaguely remember a bit of one..

and i cant even really explain it..... some kind of academy...... on a hill..... with monsters..... they tried to test their mettle.... but went to far..... back up the hill.... we barely stopped them right outside of the dorm..... but then, it was pure....

yeah, thats all i really remember, and even now im not sure if thats right. i think gatorade featured in there somewhere, or some other kinda energy drink that looked like it. maybe it was brawndo....

ANYWAY!
whenever i have dreams involving a videogame, it is almost never NOT a crossover. mass effect and halo with a smidge of starcraft, and for some reason i have greater martial might than dante, kratos, bayonetta, all of the phoenix lords, and bloody handed Khiane combined... and a naginata that works like death's scythe from dante's inferno.

yeah, videogame dreams tend to be huge power-trips for me.

and its always from the third person too, which i find odd.

Pokemon gameboy music. My god I swear that stuff was brain crack.

Tales of Symphonia oddly enough visted a dream.
Errr what else, warcraft... Super Meat Boy...

Usually it's the music playing in my head when I sleep more than the actual plot or characters.

that sounds like the best dream ever. it also brings to mind that one Erfworld comic (if you are curious, ill link you to the first comic, as the one i mention is near the end of the first book, but it makes even LESS sense without context, and with the build-up is just fantastic)
(the strip in question is number 128 if you are impatient)

All the time. Once, I had a dream I was in a zombie game (can't remember which one), and my best friend got infected so I had to shoot him in the face with a shotgun (yeah, that was the highlight, strangely).

I also have occasionally have nightmares where I'm getting chased by an enemy from a game, and I try to pause, but there is no pause button! This is real! I'm actually in it! I think it's my subconscious trying to tell me that no matter how good at these games I am, I'd be utterly shite if I were to find myself in those situations IRL.

I executed a friend on Backlot in CoD4 in a dream. I was just following orders. Other than that, my subconsious usually just borrows architecture from games. Recently, I've noticed buildings from MW3 popping in.

Also, I had inception (idea planted) done to me once. Boy can I appreciate that movie... Inquire if you would like to read that story.

Funny you guys should mention this topic I had a massive crossover dream the other night.

It started off well enough I was ported into some meadowy field with A high tech city a short distance away, for some reason I was leading an army of my ork faction from Dawn Of War II Retribution kinda just had em following me and hand directing them. ended up in the fight of our lives against an inperial guard unit who were chaos corrupted. funnily enough I won not sure how, and moved onto the city but for some reason my army just scattered and wandered off to explore on their own, while I explored the city which got really wird because it looked like a cross between Courascant, New York City from Marvel comics and a city from Mass Effect mashed together. Ended meeting some women with ginger colored hair and a suit named Jen who took an interest in me but then just wandered off to who knows where so I conitnue to explore/get lost.

Got picked up by some cops dragged into a room for questioning and suspecting that the evil looking cop was going to rape me and I am a straight dude and the cops were all guys so I jumped through a window and started fall think oh crap only to be saved by Spiderman who caught me and dropped me off a fair distance away but b4 I could thank him he ran off to leaving me incredibly confused.

Followed by more exploring entering a building encountering the Jen girl I just met who literally tackles me to the wall. I was asked the oddest question "When is the romance of this story going to happen?" which made me more confused so I said "How bout now." I answered and she deactivated some kinda of cloaking mechanism and her true form think Felecia from Marvel vs Capcom 3 except rather than white kitty she was a tiger version of that chick instead. Which for some reason devolved into rated M for mature lemon materiel events which I won't describe. After which I heard a load of explosios going off so I left the building with the catgril behind me looking upon the city getting trashed by giant robots. Upon stepping onto the city I was almost run over by a semi with the Kamina Symbol of Team Di Gurren emblazoned upon it and due to the fact that the smei nearly hit me and rolled a Lagann Mech tore out of it and landed right in front of me with a drill core from the anime appearing in my hand. 3 mecha started towards me I guess intent on smashing me flat as a pancake so I took the core drove it into the slot hole and the Lagann mecha was activated and under my control and I tore straight towards the mecha doing a Lagann impact vaulting from building to building upward then driving downward upon one of the robots pulling off the Lagann impact which in turn created my own version of the gurren lagann mech. then using it to trash the robots trashing the city at which point I woke up.

I was wandering through New Vegas's Big Empty, scraping together ammo to fend off those packs of Nightstalkers that never seemed to stop coming, down to my last few clips for A Light Shining In Darkness. I was exhausted from hiking all day, and I passed out with the controller in my hand. As soon as my eyes closed I saw a Nightstalker jump out at me, I put Graham's 1911 under its throat and pulled the trigger. The next two ate up the rest of the clip, my last. I ran then, across a strange mix of the Big Empty and the terrain I'd been hiking across earlier. The Nightstalker trailing me on my left got a bucknife in it's skull, and I pulled it out in time to slash the throat of the one pursuing on the right. But there were more than two chasing me by that point. I woke up before they started eating me. Ten minutes had passed, and my Courier was still alive somehow.

I had a weird dream where Master Chief randomly started punching holes in zombies (not Flood, just normal zombies), also he was fat for some reason

I've had my share of gaming dreams, but what generally creeps me out the most is when I'm half-awake, and my brain starts rehashing actions from various games that are so common they've become muscle memory.

Things like Total War unit movement/placement in battles, the frantic coverhopping / grenade chucking from WaW veteran difficulty, or (most disturbingly) the sound of my alts frostbolts charging.

my dreams are pretty much made of game logic and playing habits. Though I never had(or can't conjure the memory of) a dream set in particular game, I found myself reaching for the quickload hotkey after the situation had gone awry or beating someone up brawler style. I even once had an escort quest. I was protecting a cat.

Back when I played a lot of Bad Company 2 I would have dreams about playing the game, HUD and all. I remember always dying, so I assume it was my brain trying to figure out where I went wrong.
