Ever just lost interest in a long game?

I do, but it's usually only with open-world games. It just gets watered down once you experience most things at least once, and I start wondering what's the point of this? Unless the story/setting is gripping enough to get me through. I don't even have an open dislike, we just... drift apart. I think we should start seeing other people, it's not you, game, it's me.

Yep.
Happens with most of them.

Seriously, over 50% of my games are unfinished.

I rarely complete any game for, what could be, the same reason.

I suppose bordem comes into it a little. I've gotten alot better with it recently however.

I will tend to finish adventure games and shooters but I never seem to get around to completing RPG's. A small part of that is because I don't want it to be over but I guess maybe it is bordem as well a little.

Some games however I cannot get sick of, causing me to sink all of my time into them. Which is why I'm avoiding Dragon Age until the end of Semester. Which is really getting to me, because it's almost exactly what I would have ended up with if someone offered to make me my "perfect game".

Having only had my 360 less than 12 months I own about 5 games which I haven't even started. Off the top of my head: Dead Space, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 and 2. All of which I've played at friend's houses but not since I bought them.

Anyone else have this problem? Own the game but don't have the time to play it.

Mass Effect 2...It was after the Colony Defense mission, too. I was so hyped, too...Even did a 100% completion run of ME1 the month before it came out...

In Pokémon Heartgold, once I discovered the Battle Frontier, I completely failed to advance any further. Currently, I fight in the Battle Frontier for 10 hours a week, but I'm still stuck at 10 badges. That doesn't exactly count, of course, because I still play so much.

I lost interest in Dead Rising and Portal when I got stuck at certain parts. My disk for the Orange Box is scratched so I can't play Half-Life 2 properly, and I'm currently stuck early in Episode 1.

However, I don't recall an instance of simply losing interest, unless it was frustration with an inability to get further.
You lost interest in Dead Rising and Portal? How does that work?
Nah, he got stuck.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, I have yet to finish it
How long can that possibly take? I beat it in one 4 and a half hour sitting on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
I didn't really get into it very much, didn't think it was a good game

dragon age origins, while im only 25 hours in the combat system feels like world of warcraft that has been dumbed down and you have too control everyone

even though i finished persona 3 and 4 which are both 60-80 hour games thats different because they were both excellent.

Final Fantasy XII. Just wasn't enough to keep me playing when I realized

1) I only cared about half the cast.

2) I was vastly under leveled for some reason, despite grinding non-stop.

I found that leveling half of the party works well. You can still buy licences to buff their life and use better spells for the other characters anyway, it's just their base stats that will let them down.

Plus it's one of the few FF games that gives you almost all of the party for almost all of the game.

In saying that, I still haven't finished it either.

Legend of Dragoon. I was having problems figuring out what road I was supposed to take to the final boss fight and just stopped caring.

Oblivion... eventually.

The problem with a game where you can do everything is that there comes a point where you can't be bothered to do anything.

I managed to get bored of Half Life 2 somewhere around Nova Prospekt. Just stopped being interesting, but I'm not sure if that counts as a long game really.

Mostly I make sure I've got time to spare before I play a really long game, so I do it all in one go, like reading a book, and I can get really into it. (For example, completed Mass Effect 2 in three 8 hour and one 6 hour playthrough, one day after another. Unhealthy, but I really got into it.)

Final Fantasy XIII. I lost interest around Chapter 6 but I kept hearing how it got better in the 11th chapter. I was disappointed.

despite sinking atleast a hundred hours into it. I did eventually lose interest in Fallout 3, I mean I got all but one of the DLC addons but I didn't make it all the way to level 30, nor did I finish the big side quest in Lookout or get all the way through Mothership Zeta.

Yeah. Most recently, Dragon Age Orgins recently did this. I just couldn't get entertained by the game, and constantly hearing how the game could take up to 40 hrs or so just kinda made me lose interest.

No, I've yet to stop playing a game because it was too long.
