Ever tried arguing with an idiot?

Yeah ive argued with lots of idiots, mostly on the Escapist or Youtube.

Yeah, same here, the worst ones are those that PM you with some crackpot opposition to something you said. When you try to set them straight, they just keep going, citing one crap website after another. Yep, I think I know exactly what you are talking about.

yep, they seem to have a sort of unassailable spastic logic that is surprisingly hard to out argue. i always win in the end though

I normally have arguments with this stubborn idiot named George. He always tries to beat me in aruments about gaming and technology, and he loses all the time. For example, he claims that Crysis isn't as resource-hungry as World of Warcraft, yet he refused to believe I was right. He's also a team-killing shit aswell. Just thought I'd add that in there.

Well, one could raise the point that in fact, on a global scale, it currently takes more computing resources to keep World of Warcraft running than it does Crysis. Even though one needs a less stellar PC to play WoW (although having a better one really does help in busy places, or at least it used to), the amount of Crysis players is nothing compared to WoW. Not to mention the fact that is takes quite a few servers to have the clients even be able to present the worlds to the players.

Should that line of reasoning fail, one could also mention that 'resource-hungry' might not refer to computing resources, but rather to financial resources of the players.

In both cases, the actual argument would probably quickly recede to the mutual agreement that the original terms were a little bit under-defined.

I argued with someone that Ireland was NOT a continent and was apart of Europe. The guy wouldn't listen to me and started yelling that Ireland was a continent and fought for it's independence and that I'm a bigot.

I argue with people who are idiots sometimes, but not because I want to...
To be honest, most people will think the person who they are arguing with is an idiot, simply because you won't argue with someone unless you disagree with them.

Then again, if you are arguing with someone who has no valid point (which I think is what you mean), then yes it's really frustrating, because they won't even accept that what you are saying could be correct because of broken logic or something.
