I tried to. They refuse to believe that my not-so-popular (i.e. Catholic) opinion may, in fact, have some freaking merit due to my religious background. I give up on such debates now: people refuse to hear what they don't agree with.

I try not to talk to myself... Yes I do...no I don't... so I don't really argue with idiots all that often. I just smile and nod...

I normally have arguments with this stubborn idiot named George. He always tries to beat me in aruments about gaming and technology, and he loses all the time. For example, he claims that Crysis isn't as resource-hungry as World of Warcraft, yet he refused to believe I was right. He's also a team-killing shit aswell. Just thought I'd add that in there.
Well, one could raise the point that in fact, on a global scale, it currently takes more computing resources to keep World of Warcraft running than it does Crysis. Even though one needs a less stellar PC to play WoW (although having a better one really does help in busy places, or at least it used to), the amount of Crysis players is nothing compared to WoW. Not to mention the fact that is takes quite a few servers to have the clients even be able to present the worlds to the players.

Should that line of reasoning fail, one could also mention that 'resource-hungry' might not refer to computing resources, but rather to financial resources of the players.

In both cases, the actual argument would probably quickly recede to the mutual agreement that the original terms were a little bit under-defined.

I'll stop now :)
Whoa. lay of the weed

I almost argued with an idiot who decided someone was a troll for no reason other than he was a flamer and she made a post. So yeah, I have argued with idiots. I was lucky in that I was able to stop the argument from progressing by being pretty much civil. Not that I wanted to, but I just don't want any moderator trouble, and the guy wasn't worth the hassle. He knows who he is anyway...

I've done it several times, with most people I meet on a daily basis in school have the intellect and depth of a two-dimensional boy from the caveman era.

Take this for example: I was talking to a friend of mine (he's not an idiot really, but he talked so dearly about something he doesn't even have any bloody information about), and we were arguing over good game series. For some weird reason, he thinks that every FPS the latest years are ripping off Halo 3, and he doesn't even own a 360, he's only played parts of the multiplayer with me and some friends, and he hasn't even seen that many FPS's.

Doesn't it strike anyone as a blind shot for someone to accuse Rainbow Six Vegas 2, a tactical modern-day shooter on Earth, with normal army weapons, fighting some secret organization or something (haven't played through the game), to be a rip-off of Halo 3, an FPS with purple, weird-shaped weapons set 500 years in the future, where you fight against some big alien cult that believe that rings equals gods? It's like comparing Gears of War to Doom! I know that it's fun to argue, but if you haven't got information about any games, you already know that you will lose against someone who's played games his entire life! This is just like categorizing an entire game genre as a ripoff of the first game IN the genre! Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to hit my head with a frying pan.

EDIT: Thanks for correcting me, curlycrouton.
Not yet, but if you quote me things might be about to change.

well one of my friends is a rather thickheaded asshole he's one of those people who just always have to be right all the time seriously he says that Vince Mcmahon owner of WWE also owns TNA which I am quick to correct that TNA is owned by panda energy international and when I do this he says "and who do you think owns that company" at this point I just gave up and let him win this argument because I didn't know who owned the company I now know that the company is owned by a man named Robert W, carter my friend also belives that barqs root beer owns all the root beer companies in america and that Dragonball; evolution is good

"Ever tried arguing with an idiot?"

You're asking that question...on an internet forum. I'm pretty sure the answer to this is obvious.

yeah, agruing with an idiot is more than a little annoying, aruging with one that wont listen when you correct them, and then get angry cause your makeing them look like an idiot, then its just fucking funny later on

and doom was rather similar in story to gears of war, but i see your point

There is this guy i argue with almost everytime i see him. He is going out with one of my best friends and he is a real farm boy. He cant spell or speak well and has probably never picked up a book in his life, and one day when i was staying over my mates house he showed up, i was reading a book at the time.
"What are you doing? Why read a book when you can watch TV?" he said
I went on to tell him that it was more stimulating for the mind and how i liked to imagine things myself instead of letting my brain rot in front of a TV.
Ever since then ive grown to highly dislike this boy. I have an ongoing joke with one of my other mates about how dim he is.
As it's probably painfully obvious, i'm not the most social person and i enjoy the computer games, anime and fantasy books. In the lounge room of my house i ahve 2 computers and an xbox and one day when this boy cmae over to pick up my friend i brought up the previous argument that we had had about books, and i made a comment about him being dim, he then exploded saying i dont know anything because i spend all in front of a computer, whihc i thought was hilarious because he barely spends 1 hour with me a week and he claims to know what i do with my spare time... I barely spend 2 hours on my computer, i'm usually having fun with my friends. But anyway....sorry for ranting i could go on for so much long-

EDIT: sorry for there being so many mistakes in grammar and spelling, i'm typing really fast and not looking at what i'm doing

I must say tho some idiots have some really entertaining reasoning.
And others have reasoning that makes you genuinely frightened at how their thought processes work.
Yes,yes. Very,very true.

I've argued with idiots many times, about various topics (War, politics, religion, racism, crime, music, TV, films, poetry... the list goes on and on and on...). Me and my friends have really opposing thoughts.

People who claim that the Master Chief could defeat Samus Aran in single combat baffle me.
Samus has the sheer firepower advantage.

But her weaponry is 'boring and gay' and she's a girl, so I guess they're right -_-
I can't tell, are the people who prefer Master Chief idiots or are you? I guess it would be you since you never played a Metroid game before!
??I was being sarcastic.
Oh, Sorry! *runs and hides*
Damn straight, boy.
=P

My bad, really. Not very good at this 'sarcasm' thing, evidently.
