As the 3ds arrives, I am happy to know that this means ds games are going to be cheap, but in time will be harder to find.

I own all the ds instalments of the main pokemon series escept heart gold/ soul silver, the first pokemon ranger game, retro game challenge, kingdom hearts 358/2 days, the world ends with you (best ds game ever), tingle's rosey ruppeland, both zelda games, the game & watch collection, kirby squeak squad and super star ultra, mario 64 ds, gta, mario and luigi: bowsers inside story and mario cart ds.

I plan to get chrono trigger, phantasy star 0, ninja guiden: dragon sowrd, super scibblenauts, kingdom hearts Re:coded, and okamiden (all with in good time ofcorse).

so what should I get, why should I get it, and what kind of game is it?
Thank you for your help.

How about dragon quest 9? I was first thinking it wasn't going to be good (especially in those adverts here in england, basiclly the people from x factor saying stuff about the game to appeal to the casuals) but I enjoyed it in the end.

Final Fantasy III

Great game in my eyes
alot of ginding?
Suprisingly no, the story basically levels you enough for the next task! Well, except when you need to make 1 transition when you need a Dragoon in your party to take out Garuda

GTA: Chinatown Wars. Yeah it's available on PSP and it has it's share of flaws, but by now it should be pretty cheap and the drug economy alone makes the game pretty addictive. (See what I did there?)
I guess Custom Robo Arena was kind of fun, not perfect or a must have, but it is pretty much Pokemon with robots and dioramas and if that doesn't float your boat then your boat don't float.
Okamiden? It's for the DSi, not sure about the regualr DS, but still, might be good.

Nothing else that I can think of, though you have given me the idea to buy a few games on the cheap while they're available.

EDIT: Oh shit you totally reminded me, I so have to get Super Scribblenauts.

Any of the Ace Attorney games, but I'd say that the Phoenix Wright games are better specifically. Then again I haven't finished Apollo Justice yet...

would you describe thouse games as point and click adventure or is it better then that.

If you're a fan of the old-school dungeon crawl RPG's, then the Etrian Odyssey (1, 2 & 3) series is worth playing.

The gameplay isn't that different from a point and click adventure I suppose (technically it's a visual novel), you do evidence collecting and talking to people outside the courtroom, and you present evidence and cross examine witnesses in the courtroom. It sounded boring to me at first but the story, characters and investigation are really fun. I'd say they're the best games on the DS by far.

Dragon Quest 9 is the last non-pokemon game I had stuck in my system for months. I clocked over 200 hours on it, so I guess you could say that I liked it

If you like RPG's, I recommend Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and Final Fantasy III and IV (if you only choose one, play IV).

I also enjoyed the Castlevania games (there are at least 3), Contra 4 (hell yes!), Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (some people didn't like it, but I thought it was a lot of fun), Elite Beat Agents, Cooking Mama (more fun than it looks), Trauma Center (yay surgery!), Mario and Luigi (the rest of the series), Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts, Advance Wars, Ace Attourney series, Fire Emblem...

I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but that's quite a library.

I must say that if you really end up despising the point-and-click sections of the game (which are large sections, and are wildly irritating), Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is very fun and makes some very good changes to the investigation stages.

Dragon Quest 9 will stick with you for a good bit.
Final Fantasy 3 was another good one.
Give the Professor Layton games a shot too.
All things mentioned by previous posters, but still worth re-mentioning.

shit sorry i forgot to put the descriptions on, my bad. think of it like an isometric grid version of metroid. you play a women who must traverse a base infected with monsters by getting powerups and solving puzzles all the while your slowly dying from the infection.
its an immensely fun game (if you like the genre) but there are a few problems but nothing major. i think the biggest problem is its unlikely there will ever be a sequel :(
