The first Assassin's Creed. Sure the second one is good too, but I never understood all the hate for the first one. Yes, tracking targets and backtracking played a large portion of the game, but to me that actually made it better. It made it feel like I was actually tracking a target instead of someone just telling me where they were.

I played that game ad absurdum :D Also, the "Meet the Dev's" bonus level at the end always cracked me up when I went and placed random bombs and stuff.
Good times, good times

Can't really think of any newer games right now, so many to choose from... lets say there's been quite a few where the discussion about the games' value wasn't neccessary IMHO ;)

Far Cry 2

The first time through, I hated it utterly. The second time through I figured out that stealth isnt broken, it just works way better at night - so I started playing it mostly at night. You dont get to see all the nice sunny graphics but the game is way more fun as I could get much closer with a silenced pistol and do the dirty.

I guess some spanner will probably come along now and tell me how they aced the whole game with just a tooth pick during the day, but meh whatever.
Same here! I love FC2. Particularly the arsenal :)

Dragon Age: Origins

I keep hearing people complain about it but I don't see why. Sure there are some parts that could be better but overall I think it's a good game.
I agree with this. I also loved Dragon Age: Awakening despite the fact apparently a lot of Dragon Age fans as well as non fans hate it.

I'd have to say [PROTOTYPE]. It's a damn good game, but it gets flak because the developers cared about their game enough to delay it. Sadly they delayed to around the same time that inFamous was coming out, which in itself shouldn't have hurt anything because inFamous is pure shit without even a single kernel of corn to salvage from it.

However, I've underestimated how much people love shooters, no matter how bad (and inFamous is a REALLY BAD shooter), in favor of a game with even the slightest glimmer of originality in it. You would think with great third person shooter titles like Uncharted and Gears of War out there on the market, crap like inFamous would still get called out for being crap, but nope. All shooters get a pass these days, no matter how awful.

So, yeah. [PROTOTYPE] got the shit end of that stick somehow, but fuck the critics. [PROTOTYPE] is an awesome game and if you would rather play another fucking shooter instead, have fun with the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops. Hey, at least it'll be better than inFamous, not that you'd notice the difference as long as you get to shoot stuff.
O_O wow.
Never heard anyone call infamous a shooter much less a bad shooter lol. I never was able to play prototype but wanted infamous much more. From what i've heard the release date isn't the problem people have with the game. You also might be the first to equate black ops with infamous, very different games, and infamous is much different from gears. In fact the only thing i see they have in common is aiming. What exactly didn't you like about it other than the fact you got to aim?
Not attacking you because you dislike the game just curious to your reasons o_O
and hahaha someone with the exact opposite opinion above you, even using similar metaphors.

The amount of attention-seeking fuckers with 'FML' comments is bloody beyond me. C'mon people let's get a bit optimistic here.

I'd have to say Halo. It's a fun game and sure it may be a bit bland but for it's time it's actually quite good.

TESIV: Oblivion. There's always someone in every gaming forum that erupts into a volcano of menstrual blood at the mention of Oblivion because it doesn't measure up to their precious Morrowind somehow. Hey, y'know what's great? Having a sword that doesn't phase through my target because the snotty piece of shit doesn't think I'm good enough to use it; enjoy your cliff racers.

Halo and the COD series, as well.

Definitely one I haven't heard anyone else talk about is "Tenchu Z." Sure, it had its fair share of issues- what stealth game doesn't?- but it ALSO had a very gratifying system of for assassinations (multikills were amazing!). Add in purchasable skills, customization options, and an array of items to supplement your ceiling-clinging, wall-running, super-jumping ninja assassin and it had quite the number of options. Not to mention, every mission had multiple ways for you to complete it. And it had 50 missions, which means its total lifetime is quite a bit more than a lot of games these days.

P.S. I might be regretting trading it in now that I've talked about it...

I know lots of friends of mine who utterly despise Sims 3. I pretty much liked it, not loved it.

I could play for hours on end, though I would get bored, but I would still enjoy it the next day.

As for now its my backup game if StarCraft2 is failing on me.

Avatar the game, played it a bit on PC but it wouldn't run well
Ive been meaning to get it on console because I loved it on PC
I dont see why everyone hates it
Prejudice about film games probably, or people just hate avatar in general because its popular, well was.

KOTOR 2.

NOT everyone hates the game. A lot of people are in the same boat as me and believe it is a perfect improvement on the first and easily the better game.

But in so many posts that involve the KOTOR games, many jerks bash the second game so badly like if it ruined their lives or something.

They complain about bugs and glitches, which is strange because I never encountered anything like that. I played it on the Xbox so if all those complaints come from the PC version, then blame that shitty port instead of the game itself.

As for the ending, YEAH IT DID SUCK! IT WAS COMPLETELY INCONCLUSIVE! BUT SO WHAT!? The rest of the game was so fucking awesome I forgave that part and merely brushed it off as a nasty bump rather than a total fuck up on the entire game.
This. KOTOR II is my favorite game of all time, and the shitacular ending has been mostly fixed by the Restored Content Mod, so whatever.

Everyone's currently hating on New Vegas, but I've heard some positive things about the story, so I'll likely pick up that and love it too (at least, that's what I'm hoping, I can't exactly "afford" a new game right now).

Black and White 2

It is a bit easy though but the thing that always got me with that game was it was made in 2005 and I think that its graphics still beat games of today. It also has one of the greatest game concepts ever, exept mabey to that of Dungeon Keeper.

As said I'm sure, KoToR2 was a great game, and I enjoyed the recent Fallouts. I can understand the FO hatered on the glitches, but Kotor 2 was a great game! Okay, so the opening level before spreading out to the galaxy was more obnoxious that Taris, but it was still a great game. The combat was nice, and having force earlier was a lot nicer than knowing you could use it but not using it.

Never understood why people are so down on it, and hell, it's an updated version of Kotor 1!
