They play it because either:
1, No other MMORPG will accept them,
2, They lack the skill for other video games,
3, All of their friends play it,
4, They watched the episode of South Park and wanted to be like the fatass guy who couldn't be defeated, or;
5, More than one of the above.

-F.E.A.R : I thought the story was a bunch of nonsenses, the characters were all idiots, the idea of sending a soldier alone seemed rather stupid to me, and all the gameplay was a lot of identical gunfights, in identical settings, against always the same ennemys (Yeah, there were those weard invisible things, but there were only six or seven of those in the entire game). Ok, it was terrifying, but that's about it. It's repetitive, linear, poor. I thought that this game sucked, but oddly, there are a lot of people who love it, and some professionals reviewers compared it to Half Life !

By the way, I bought and finished the first Halo recently, and honestly, it is not that bad. That's not great, just good. It's sometimes repetitive, but not to the point of FEAR (in which things are always the same during the entire game, except maybe the end). I don't understand why some people hate it so much.

Mario games. I really cant get into them. I dont know why everyone else loves them, i really dont...

yay people agree with me. i really dont like mario games. theyre ok i guess, but i cant play them for more than like 20 minutes at a time. the lack of a story combined with the lack of a cohesive universe is irritating and i just cant get into it. sure the puzzles are fun, but without a reason to do them, i just am not that interested. mario 64? i never even finished it. got to the spiral staircase and never wanted to finish the game.

I don't like any of the Final Fantasy games and am completely with everyone who wasn't all that impressed with phsyconauts. i went into with a positive outlook and an open mind and i even tried to make up for things but i couldn't get myself to enjoy that game. I dont think theres a problem with portal, i dont let media effect my opinion of a game and with that said i stand by portal 100 percent of the way. Halo has a great story line and gameplay, i dont go with the opinion that "if something is overrated it sucks". Sure, Halo is overrated but its still a really good game. Besides, if everyone had that opinion, where would Gears of War be. People can have their own opinions but i wont listen to them if its based off of what other people are saying.

Half Life 2 I don't see what the big deal is. It plays like a utterly average run and gun shooter I think halo's weapons and gameplay are better, but maybe not story.

NOW its not that great but when you look at when it came out it was so ahead of its time, i mean think, if its OK now think of how good it was in 2004, it still looks good 4 years after it originally came out. I mean look at some other games in 2004 then look at hl2, its fucking amazing.

The Orange Box: Held my attention for all of one week, but honestly I don't see whats so great. (seriously wtf how the hell does freeman drive without arms... and he has no legs!)

RE4: God it's fun but it's not the messiah as everyone seems to make me want to beleive.

Oh and pretty much any fps It's really just aggravating and has little realism. The only game that I could get into was The Darkness

I hate any game (or movie, or publication) that tiptoes around sensitive subjects because someone may get offended. This is one of the reasons I enjoy the ZP posts, 'cause he says shit without checking to make sure people don't disagree with him first. In fact, that is the whole point of this thread, having opinions contradictory to popular belief should be considered as long as they have reasons behind the decisions.

Here is my sentiments, and I have good reasons behind them all, but I won't state them all 'cause we'll get so off-topic that the thread will get lost. I don't like:
-Japanese "anime" style games (Anime, BTW, is Japanese for cartoon.)
- Sports Games
- Rap
- Stupid people
- Hippies (and people to concerned about "pushing beliefs" and "offending people" to form an honest one-sided opinion.)
- Anchovies (seriously, WTF, on pizza now?)
- Gays and "pro-gay" demonstrations/holidays ( I have my reasons, and I'm not a "homophobe" that would mean I'm afraid of them. I'm not afraid, I just don't like them; they disgust me.)
- Most MMORPGs (especially the ones with the ultra-dedicated fans; South Park got it spot-on.)
- Pointless puzzle game (I'm looking at you Onimusha ."
- Celery (It gets stuck in my teeth.)
- People who think the word "anime" or "manga" means anything different than "cartoon" or "comic". (That's right Naruto fans, you're just as nerdy as your Spiderman comic-collector father.)

TF2 and CoD4 multiplayer... Sure they're fun, but CoD4's multiplayer had me hooked for about a week, and I fade in and out of TF2 now and again. In my opinion they're hardly the perfect multiplayer games a lot of people say they are.
