Final-Fantasy. Or anything from Japan really. I just can't stand it!

EDIT: I hated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I re-installed it about 3 times just to find out what made other people like it so much. The enviroments, AI, hitboxes, accuracy etc. makes it one of the worst shooters ever in my opinion. You spend most of the time running back and forth ( WHERE ARE THE VEHICLES?). I just didn't like it, it feels really lousy to play.

Heh heh, hitboxes. The problem probably wasn't that the hitboxes were misplaced, rather the guns are fairly inaccurate. Unless you have a sniper rifle, or an ak and you shoot 1 shot at a time while crouching down, after 20 shots, you might hit the guy. If you're close, however, it's pretty easy. Still, there is a LOT of walking around, and if you just loaded up with loot you can run about 2 seconds before trudging the rest of the way.

Just off the top of my head, the entire Zelda series, the entire Final Fantasy series, the entire Splinter cell series, Super Mario 64, the entire Metroid series, Deus Ex: The Invisible War, Guitar hero 1, 2 and 3, Rock Band, Lumines, the entire series of Devil May Cry, World of Warcraft, every Call of Duty game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, every Vitua Fighter game, every Dead or Alive game, The Darkness, Super Mario 3, Tribes, 007 Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Starfox 64, Test Drive Unlimited, Mario Kart and everything to do with Pokemon, Super Smash Bros: Brawl, the Battlefield series all sports games and everything related to the Sims. I'm hating the upcoming Oddworld: Hand of Odd in advance for shying away from the style of games like Abe's Exodus.

To be fair, I will reduce it to the games I played before judging them :

- GTA. All of them, 2D or 3D. Its fun for a while to go mad in the city and then it pretty much gets boring with no remaining motivation to do the missions. But I have the problem with all kind of Sandbox games.

- HALO : about 100 years after the XBOX release it came to the PC. I never understood why people can like it nearly religious and become such enormous fanboys. This gloryfied mediocrity damaged the whole industry by causing the trend of stupid console shooters we endure today. Well done.

- CoD4 : I HATE this endless respawn mechanics in the singleplayer. Cant get well with it.

- World in Conflict : lots of RTS fans went OMFGWTFBBQ !!! and I realy shared their feeling through the beta phase, but the game gets quickly soooo repative that it bored me strong enough not to buy it. Look, when you are playing the Infantry commander you end in command two types of solders (normal squads and rockt squads) through woods or urban areas and spam airstrikes. When you take Air you command two types of helicopters and spam airstrikes. When you take Armour you maybe move four tanks over open fields and spam airstrikes. When you... I guess you got it.

Gran Turismo series...
I don't hate them, I think they are OK, but not "the best driving simulator" "bla, bla 10/10" like everybody else thinks...
- ok, first of all: the AI is pathetic - the cars (all six of them) drive in a straight line, one behind the other the entire race - they never make ANY mistake...
- second: no damage - OK, I can understand why they did that, but that doesn't mean I like it...
- third: sense of speed - at 300 km/h it feels like the car is standing...
- fourth: engine sound - I was playing GT3 and driving a Corvette at 8000 RPM, and I thought my Zastava 128 1.1 55HP sounded better at 2000 RPM...

I liked the graphics, and A LOT of cars to choose from, but that's not enough...

I also don't like Halo, MGS 2, any MMORPG and iPhone...

I'd have to say "Command and Conquer". It's fun, but once you have played one game, there really isn't anywhere you can go after that. They tried implementing 3d RTS games, but I see through their web of deception!

That's not to say I hate all RTS games. I really liked the Starcraft series and Ground Control because they at least had decent stories and varied sides.

Most of this is a "I hate mainstream games".

But I have one on my mind and it's the Command and Conquer series. Except for Red Alert One

Off the top of my head only a few come to mind.

MGS4
Any organized religion
MMORPGs
Halo (all of them)
and (believe it or not) the Grand Theft Auto Series because the funnest part of the game is actually not playing the story and just killing random people (which is much more fun in assassins creed and the splinter cell games)

i just don't see the appeal of the GTA games, i just get bored of them very quickly! i like violence in video games, but the casuality of it in GTA just gets dull!

Farcry. I just didn't like it.

Also, i thought Bioshock was just decent, not the golden shit of christ. I mean, the whole resurrection-tank thing completely took me out of the setting, because i knew that if i died, it would only be a minor setback, so what started out as a scary game quickly became a romp through caketown.

Final Fantasy Series for definite, I just can't stand the ATB system and it feels like a typical Japanese Anime show in which everyone woman in site has a chest the size of the Titanic and an ego to match

y'all can stop calling final fantasy now. This thread is about games you hate that everyone seems to love. Everyone seems to hate FF here, so it's not a valid target anymore :p
(although I didn't liked FFX myself, too many faults in combat)

Portal: nothing wrong with the game but TOO many people have/had that cube as avatar... sheep!

GTA: I can totally see why it's so popular, but I just wannabe mr. NiceGuy so I never liked playing it

hmm it seems not one game can be liked by everybody.

I mean... Portal, for me one of the best games that came out this year, but I still see someone post the game in this thread. Also counter-strike and DOTA, been playing these games forever now.

One game I definitely hated was TES IV: Oblivion; the combat and storytelling of the game just didn't win me over but... not calling this game bad there's a difference between not liking the game and the game itself being poor or crap so I understand why some people like it and it deserves the praise it gets.

I remember Yahtzee trashing games like The Witcher and Clive Barker's Jericho, so I stayed away from it until a couple of months later, picked up those games and had fun with it.

Guitar Hero, it's so repeitive. Even listening to people talk about it is boring.

Eg: where you up to, expert oh i'm just up to hard.

There is no story or anything to keep you playing but still people do.
