Diablo. With D3 coming out and everyone frothing at the mouth over it, I better thicken up my skin right quick I figure, as I did not at all enjoy the series. Diablo the original, despite being very, very simple and mind-numbing after a certain portion of time, I actually find better than the sequel, as I am one of the maladjusted unfortunates who does not enjoy being repeatedly killed and having to do stuff over and over again. If you don't absolutely optimize your build - and I much prefer having a broader amount of options to problem-solve with - you get screwed often, early and with a vigor that would make pornstars hang up their thongs. The story was nowhere near enthralling enough to keep me interested, and after the umpteenth time Duriel killed me three seconds after catching sight of him I just kind of gave up on the series as a whole. Not worth the frustration.

I was never a fan of rhythm games, however they choose to tart them up. Dance Dance Revolution is like Simon in public, with your feet, with the difficulty ramped right up - it's embarrassing and I fail a lot and I have no idea how anyone finds that fun. Guitar Hero is the same thing, but alone in your room with your rockstar fantasies. I have no idea why, if anyone wants to play guitar that badly, they don't just, y'now, learn how to play the guitar. Plus having to go through the whole byzantine hacking process to be able to play some god damn Devin Townsend Band makes the whole thing just plain Not Worth It.

Maple Story is brain-breakingly repetitive and difficult if you don't spend money on it. See also: the grand majority of 'free' MMORPGs. I need to write an article on this crap someday.

Guitar Hero. There! I said it!

Yeah, never had the dream to be a rock god - I play piano. Not a huge fan of guitar rock, and therefore the music in the game - my dad played sax in a soul band, so I grew up listening to soul, r&b and mowtown.

But I am able to see the theoretical enjoyment, and I do appreciate the innovation to gameplay it provided.

MGS the series- Gameplay is okay I can't stand the soap opera part of it
Portal-Didn't find it funny and the puzzles were quiet easy.
Any turn based video game-I do not like turn base in video games (chess is ok)
Halo 2-Single player medicore Multiplayer Crap because of extremly overpowered weapons
Half-life-Half-life ep 1-Boring at least ep 2 was awesome
GTA series-Very repetitive, drive here,kill that,repeat.
Wiimote/six axis-I really don't think they work that well to be worth using it.

Woah, people like the sixaxis? I can't stand that unresponsive piece of trash. It's either too sensitive or not sensitive enough.

That was mainly at the wiimote. I just put six axis so someone wouldn't point out its not there.

Pretty much any racing game that does not allow you to blow up the other cars. Honestly, the only time I have fun in a car in a videogame is GTA or Twisted Metal. Part of this is my inability to be good at racing games, but then a big part of it is my anger at the fact that people can get their jollies by watching cars go in circles really really fast. Waste of fuel and time, in my opinion.

I hate Oblivion. The level-scaling drives me up the fucking wall! Add to that I hated the gameplay and quests, and I traded that game in first chance. Ugh...

PS: How can you hate Kingdom Hearts!? Are you, like, a killer of all that is magical and made of gumdrops? /joke

Half-Life series. Don't get me wrong I don't hate it, but I'm not in love with it either.
Gears of War. Not impressed, and not excited about GoW2
WoW. Damn it gets addicting if you're not careful, but then again I was well grounded, and at that point I couldn't get into it.

I got to add to my list:
Super smash Melee, yeah it was fun, but the 64 one was so much better. Jigglypuff is supposed to suck and Link is supposed to be an awesome fighter, not the other way around.

World Of Warcraft... Coming from a former Actiblizzard employee it may sound bad, but the game is just so boring, plus the people you encounter are the most irritating, obsessive-compulsive, farm-junkies I have met in any game.

CS 1.5, CS 1.6: I like the latest source game, when I'm playing on a server with familiar people and competent admins. In China, where I am right now, everyone plays 1.5 even though it was a terribly unbalanced game. Everyone and their mother has hax for the game, and there is no security to prevent against it, so its really not worth playing. I tried introducing the people here to Source, but they didn't like it because you could win with a gun other than the AWP.

God of War: It was just a Rygar clone with a different storyline and "OMG BEWBZ!"

That Arab dude made a good point too about gaming consoles; i thought the Xbox consoles as well as the dreamcast were overrated.

I also thought that Star Wars Episode 4,5,6 were better than 1,2,3. Star Trek Voyager was better than the original with Kirk.

Tomatoes suck also, although ketchup is essential.

I think the Dreamcast is probably the most underrated console ever. It was an awesome machine that just couldn't flourish because of the PS2's hype and the ease of pirating games for it. Many people seem to forget that without the Dreamcast, Sony and Microsoft wouldn't have known what to do in regards to online gaming on consoles. Xbox Live was born from Dream Arena more or less. Everything the DC did wrong the PS2 and Xbox did right. They learnt from the DC's mistakes and in doing so it shows that gamers owe a lot to the DC for showing the others how to do things. Sega were very brave to venture into the 6th generation first and even though the DC was a short-lived affair its legacy continues to this day. I still have mine and like the occasional game now and then, it has some awesome classics like Shenmue, Virtua Tennis (still going even today) and Metropolis Street Racer (which was the precursor to the Project Gotham series).

Alright, it was significant to the advance of gaming consoles in respect to introducing online play. However, the fact that the games were so easy to copy, and there really weren't that many great ones in the first place make it a bad system. Just because it was important doesn't mean it was great, just look at (insert famous dictator here), real important dude to history, not exactly a prime example of humans' best characteristics.

I didn't hate Halo. I just found it decent. Good enough for the $20 I paid for it but not deserving of the massive hype nor did I feel any need to rush out and buy the sequels.

FEAR. Not particularly scary, and the gameplay doesn't make up for the lack of scariness(which is obviously the games main selling point).

FPS is general. I do not mind COD4 but other than that i have not enjoyed an fps since when i played Goldeneye at my Nintendo owning friends houses.

I am slowly enjoying the genre a bit more.

Also when all mi friends loved ragnarok i could not stand it but i guess MMO just aint my thing. I am a compulsive grinder but i need a point to my compulsive grinding. aka story.

Personally I never understood the appeal of the Diablo series or hell.

I also don't get the appeal of the RTS as a genre, I find most of these games boring and samey.

Half Life. It's not that I despise the series, all the games are objectively well done, but... they fail to captivate me.
