Vergil Crawford - Morning Light Inn - Tinsdal

Vergil followed along behind the others, guarding the rear in case any more of Kain's troops tried anything. They soon reached the tavern that Scarlett had taken them to. A rather cold front came in from the ocean, obviously a bad sign of things to come. The tavern itself was a rather upmarket location, and quite big in size as well.

Scarlett had went over to a nearby board, Julie soon joining her. That just left Vergil and Vessel at a nearby table. There was silence for a few moments, before Vessel asked a question, a slight nervous inflection in her voice.

"What happened after I left?" Vergil clasped his hands together, his thumbs moving in and out with no real rhythm. After thinking it over for a few minutes, he responded.

"Not much really. After you left, I rented a room, and just sat there. Quiet. Calm. Alone. Some time later, Julie knocked at my door; bringing along a bottle of alcohol, and a sympathetic ear. We just talked for awhile. Swapping stories, general discussion, like we were friends. It was rather nice. She then gave me a scrap of paper with some numbers on it, something to do with that chest she mentioned earlier." Vergil then gently held the Vessel's hand before continuing.

"After our chat, I decided to have a walk. Bumped into some old friends, found myself a nice tavern to have a quiet drink in. It was as I left the Conjuress' Elixir, that the snow started to fall. I continued my walk, where I stopped in front of a tailors, remembering that a few of the seams needed mending on my coat, and the attached hood. I also thought, I'd get you a nice present, that coat for example; which by the way, I'll clean myself. After I purchased the coat, well you know the rest." He quickly decided to change the subject, a much more calmer mood descended on the table, as a smile formed on Vergil's lips.

"Now then, since I am paying for the drinks, what would you fancy m'lady?"

Kain Whitestroke-Mako's Bar-Tinsdal

"That could've gone better." Marne sighed as he downed a shot of whiskey. Kain sat adjacent from him drinking bourbon. He shook his head and smiled, "No, that went really well. Now we know about Vergil's group." Marne raised an eye, "Group? What makes you think it belongs to that thief?" Kain sipped his drink, "You didn't hear one say 'Master Vergil'? The point is we now have people looking into them."

Marne turned, leaning against the bar with his elbow, "Why didn't you just kill them at the start Kain? Why didn't you participate in the fight? You could've helped y'know." Marne exited the building without an answer and Kain sat in solitude. Kain rolled his right sleeve up and gazed upon a small black cut. "Because I can't kill..." He muttered before continuing to drink.

He noticed the cut beginning to hurt. The time between episodes is sure decreasing. He thought as he pulled out a small vial of a red, blood like liquid. He felt it burn the back of his throat as he drank a tiny sip. The pain receded and Kain laid his head on the bar and began to sleep.

This is just a quick post. I just got internet access so I decided to do this. I don't know how often I can do this until end of the week.

"Yeah of course. They were '3, 7, 14, 23, and 36', and it was part of a ten digit code you see. Apparently there is something interesting in that chest from the Champions of the Tempest, at least that's what the **** thinks. Between you and me, I actually managed to solve it." Vergil then went into some detail as to how he managed to figure out the missing digits.

"It was actually tricky at first, since there was no formulaic pattern amongst them. I tried various combinations of numbers to no avail. Then I thought, why not try prime numbers; and match them to the corresponding number in the sequence. So for example, since 2 is the first prime number, and 3 being first in the sequence, you would get 1."

"After getting to the fifth number, I noticed a pattern; that after taking away the prime numbers, the result was a square number. So after some thinking, I went with the notion of doing it in reverse; add the square number to its corresponding prime number (e.g. 36 and 13, since they are the sixth number in their respective chains). Within a few short moments, I had cracked the code." Vergil then moved in closer, so that the **** could not overhear.

"The final numbers are 49, 66, 83, 104, and 119." He then slightly nudged the Vessel's side.

"Let's just keep this to ourselves okay." Vergil remarked, winking afterwards.

"Anyway, do you fancy anything to drink?" He then asked.

Scarlett Verneer - The morning light inn - Tinsdal

She looked at the folded pieces of paper on the board and sighed in frustration. There had been little of interest. She had been hoping for something, anything, that seemed unusual and likely to be a Red Stain contact. Instead the board was filled with legitimate requests for help from the locals. She had no time for them. Scarlett turned her head to catch sight of the **** arriving by her side as she began to talk.

?Oh? What leads??

Scarlett held a distant look at the wall as if seeing the past unfold inside her mind. She knew that her daughter had been taken for one reason, and one reason alone. To be used as a weapon against her. She didn?t want to admit it, or really think about it but somewhere out there she would be training for the day that the job was handed down to kill her mother. Would she know? Scarlett swallowed the unpleasant thought and looked at the **** with almost a passive expression.

?Who is this man??

Scarlett couldn?t think. There had been a little part of her that had hoped Kalyn had been the one and she would find her daughter in hiding in the estate of the Dean. But it had been wishful thinking. Although she had found a sister? Scarlett turned to look at Vergil and the Vessel.

?Come on you can tell me on the way.? I want a drink.?

Scarlett walked across the room to Vergil. She would have to think about what to do with her sister. The memory of seeing her father die was still too fresh.

"What makes prime numbers special, is that they can only be divided by itself and one, to provide an example, five. They are the opposites of composite numbers, which can be divided by other factors, including itself and one. For example, six is a composite number, since it can by one, two, three, and six." Vergil remarked, giving a basic definition on what makes a prime number special. He then briefly looked over at Scarlett and Julie, who were discussing something.

"Perhaps it is something to do with Scarlett's daughter, or maybe, its to do with that chest she was on about earlier. We'll probably find out soon enough though." He then began drumming his fingers on the table, thinking on what drink to get for the Vessel. After looking outside, seeing the snowfall, he found his answer.

"Say, what about a nice hot chocolate? Should certainly help warm you up." Vergil then heard the sound of Vessel in distress.

"No, where is it!?" She sounded pretty startled. "Where the hell was it?"

"What have you lost?" He asked, sounding concerned. A slight smile then appeared, as he removed something from his coat.

"You wouldn't be looking for this perchance?" Vergil asked, sounding somewhat smug; as held the Vessel's harp out in one hand.

She looked at the picture for a brief moment but did not recognise the face on it. Scarlett shook her head and moved her mind onto other things. Like Vergil?s offer for a drink.

?Hey Vergil, I?ll have some vodka.?

"All right then." Vergil said with a smile, as he got up from his chair. "That's a vodka for Scarlett, and a nice big hot chocolate for the Vessel. Shan't be long ladies." He remarked, repeating the order, in a rather jovial manner. He turned on his heels, and calmly walked up to the counter. A woman in a dark blue dress, was serving a man with platinum blonde hair, who after receiving his drink, left the counter. She then repositioned herself to face Vergil, curling a few strands of raven coloured hair between her fingers.

"Hello Sir. What can I get you?"
"I'll take a large mug of hot chocolate, several shots of vodka, and a coffee."
"How many shots Sir?
"Actually, just give me the bottle, and a shot glass. I'll let her decide."
"Certainly. That'll be 100 Kiel please."
"Here you go Miss." Vergil said, handing over a small pile of coins.

"Won't be a minute Sir. It'll take some time for the hot drinks." The bar woman then disappeared into the kitchen, a faint warm air could be felt.

Whilst Vergil waited, a hooded figure approached him. Judging from the height and body shape, it was a woman underneath.

"Hello? Who are you?" Vergil asked rather nervously, as he placed a hand on top of his sword. The figure then lowered her hood, revealing a pale faced woman, of around twenty five years of age. She had light green hair, worn in a short ponytail. Two longswords could be seen either side of her.

"You do not have to be alarmed Master Aeon, I am a friend of your mothers."
"Oh. Well, that's good to know. Sorry for the way I acted just now. Anyway, who are you, and what does my mother want?"

"Firstly, my name is Kristina, I am a servant as it were for S.I.N, dealing with specialist cases. Secondly, she wants you to know, that myself, and the rest of the Order, are at your service. Should there be anything you require, don't hesitate to ask. I should mention that we are mostly in disguise, so recognise us by this seal." Kristina then placed in Vergil's palm, the image of a bird with outstretched wings, and behind it, two crossed swords, and the phrase 'Nothing is true'written underneath.

"This is a tattoo we wear, so you'll have to be in close proximity to us to find one. Anyway, I must be off, command requests that I apprehend a pair of hunters that recently entered the district. Don't know why they would send for me, but duty calls. See you later Sir." She then pulled her hood back up, and rushed out the door.

"Interesting woman, well, it seems, we may have some support. They could be useful for something in the future. And what was that about 'Hunters'?" Vergil thought to himself, confused by that last statement. It was then that the bar woman returned.

"Here you go sir. One Coffee, one Hot Chocolate, and a bottle of Vodka; with shot glass." The lady remarked, placing the items on a tray.
"Thank you Miss." Vergil said, taking the tray, back to the table.
"Here you go ladies."

Scarlett had sat at the table when Vergil returned. She took the bottle with one hand and the glass with the other, nodding in thanks to Vergil in return. She poured a shot and knocked it back. It tasted harsh and burnt something fierce down her throat but despite the relative poor quality of the mash it still tasted good. She closed her eyes and savoured the memories of the past.

?So?? She said aloud to nobody in particular.

Dean Jastis ? Dean?s Mansion ? Tinsdal

Ever since the fight with the Dark God, Jastis had been bombarded with questions and answers. Most of the Ultimate Mages said they would keep it a secret but not all. Truth be told, he didn?t know what to say. Aside from him seeing Gemsi, he couldn?t tell the public much even if he wished to. Lorel was awake but wasn?t speaking and when he does, he doubted Lorel would wish for the knowledge to become widely known.

He sat at his desk, eyes barely open, his wife was out, and he didn?t know where his son was. Jastis took a paper from his desk and read it. It was simple, a letter from the Elites of the North looking for answers, and they had met at the Ice Castle, which was odd. The Dean being above all of them was usually invited for such events. ?Look at this mess... It never does get clean does it??

The voice was instantly familiar, he looked up to see his wife smiling at him. Her hair was long and blazing red, an oddity to see in the North with the more common black and brown hair and occasional blonde. ?It probably will never be.? Jastis responded as he looked back down at the papers.

?So, what?s the game plan? Operation Deathly Continuation will no doubt be huge soon, and Lorel came here seeking help. Are we to deny it to him??

The Dean shook his head. ?No, we shall support him. Tell Lorel that he has our full support. We will contact the rest, see what they?re up to.?

She smiled. ?Alright dear.?

Mulu?shia Vo?ana

Female

45

Born ? 2/12/6222

Human

Bio: Mulu?shia was born to an Elite Family in the South, but despite it being their home, it was a place they always wished to get out of. It was tough being in the South, even for an Elite family, the status in the South was more a name, and barely held any true power, like many they had to fight for their survival.

Her original last name, Ghos, was a family lineage known for their hatred of Mages, and so they made many ties with Mage Hunters in attempt to get more powerful and eventually out of the South. Mulu?shia was different, she loved mages, and thus her family wasn?t fond of her. During her youth years she was a devote follower of the gods.

On a sudden trip to the North, her family was killed in a random attack by the Mages Order and she was the only survivor. It was then when she met Jastis and eventually married him.

Vincent - Hollow's Peak - Lower District

Vincent limped through the darkened alley's behind the many houses of Hollow's Peak. Vincent's left lag dragged behind the other in a shuffle of sorts, while he clutched at his left arm. Blood ran freely from both, and it was obvious to see Vincent was barely suppressing his rage at something that had bested even him. A trail of blood followed Vincent, dripping down slowly from either wound. Behind Vincent, the sound of barking dogs not far off in the distance. Vincent swore under his breath before quickening his pace, limping along and leaving a longer and much thicker blood trail in his wake. Vincent managed to find his way back to a main street and duck into a crowd just as a group of armed thugs burst from the alley where he had come from, four dogs barking and snapping their jaws and passerby's as they tried desperately to find their prey. It was useless of course, Vincent had already managed to drip his blood all over the street, causing the dogs to go in circles as Vincent slipped away into the shadows.

Vincent managed to slip back to where he was supposed to be meeting Lucian, and found a seat in the back of the tavern. Here, he was easily concealed by the shadows, and was able to tend to his wounds. It took him only a few seconds to bind up his leg, and then his shoulder. Both of which he barely managed to suppress a cry of shock and pain. Now, he waited.

"Of course." Vergil remarked, as he began to analyse the metal vault that was placed before him. The emblem of the Champions; could be clearly seen on both sides. From the looks of it, the first five digits had already been entered, judging from the absence of some metal catches, which held a dial in place. Before inputting the remaining numbers, he quickly scanned the chest with Shade's Vision, to make sure that there wasn't any hidden surprises.

"Good news, this vault hasn't been rigged with any form of security countermeasure, to prevent tampering." He mentioned to the others, before he began to turn the numbered tumblers in turn; each time a number was successfully entered, another catch came loose, accompanied by a clicking sound.

"49, 66, 83, 104, and 119" Vergil murmured to himself, remembering the final set of numbers. When the final piece of the puzzle had been entered, the dial was pushed forward, prompting Vergil to turn it. After a few brief moments, the dial became loose, and was suddenly removed from the vault, allowing the door to open.

"There you go."

Vergil looked at he formula that appeared in mid air, whilst he could read it, he didn't necessarily understood what it. It was then that the Vessel started walking away, clutching a bunch of papers between her arms, making her way to a side room.

"-Wait, it's too loud in her. I can't think straight. I think I need to be alone, just for a while." Her voiced sounded worried, words broken, like she was in pain. Before she entered the side room, Vergil spoke to her.

"You sure your alright Vessel? You like something is hurting you. *sigh* If you need anything, let us know, we're here for you." He then sat back down at the table, putting his feet up, and started staring into the fire.
