I'll avoid it now.

As for games with good Coop, Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2 takes the cake. I've put several hundreds of hours into both and with friends, its amazing. I remember spending new years playing Vs with some friends while wasted and with alltalk on, best night ever.

Am I the only one who thought FEAR 2 was better than FEAR 1? The only thing I thought FEAR 1 did better was shotgun combat, as the game was practically all close quarter combat. I hope they put more of that in, but keep in mind FEAR 3's primary developer isn't Monolith, it's Day 1 studios.

Personally, I think if the co-op campaign is a separate entity all will be well. I want scares and lots of them, something that won't really work in co-op.

Yeah, it's what I'll do before its condemned.

Tbh I still haven't gotten around to playing F.E.A.R. 2 yet so I'm sure what that's like either, the demo was alright

it's good that the co-op doesn't get to shoot.
and sees the world different.

the normal player can still be scared this way.

and for the best co-op game i nominate resident evil 5.
that was just awfully good fun.

At least it wasn't called F3EAR.
I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to go FYAR FYAR FYAR
The cover art is "F3AR" if that's what you mean. So, yeah...

OT: I've played neither previous FEAR games, though I did download that free multiplayer thing they offered quite a while after the release of the original. That was fun, and one of the only online games I've ever been even remotely good at, so I imagine the original game was even better, as there's actual horror involved.

That is so bizarre. Why are they even bothering? It sounds a little like the Co-op for Super Mario Galaxy, where player 2 could collect stars. It was kind of tacked on co-op.

I loved the co-op in Gears. Anytime they separated you and you had to work in tandem to get past an obstacle, that's where I think the co-op really shined.

And Halo 3's four player co-op was really freaking awesome.

I had a lot of fun with FEAR 2 and I still need to play the first but the Co-Op actually sounds cool in a way, but my friend is a huge fan of FEAR and he is going to buy it either way and from what I have heard it is actually supposed to be more scary than the last two. I don't really get scared from any horror game anyways hopefully this one can scare me.

Edit:I think a great Co-Op game would be Splinter Cell Chaos Theory if anything

I dunno, having Paxton around would just kind of remind me of the dog from Fable 2....

I still might get it though, and just stick to playing by myself.

I just read a huge preview of F.E.A.R. 3 and it has effectively killed any expectations I had of the game.
Nope, F.E.A.R 2 did that in less than an hour. I'm a big fan of F.E.A.R but I will not be buying number 3.
I actually enjoyed F.E.A.R. 2 ( man that title is annoying to type) apart from the feeling that my player was constantly tripping over his shoelaces.

Nausea enducing headbob.

I thought that Gears of War had an excellent co-op campaign. I had so much fun with that game with my friends.

Timesplitters was another great co-op game. Still one of my favorites to this day.
Notice that neither of those are horror games. And neither of those have the other player running around as a ghost. It seems like F.E.A.R. is dying...

I liked the co-op in Gears of War like everyone else, and the only thing that made Resident Evil 5 playable was co-op because the AI was so awful. And the Left 4 Dead series has always had the best co-op because there was no way to survive otherwise.

I'll going to wait and see about the third. If it has more effective, unexpected and genuine scares than FEAR 2 or becomes on par or a bit over than 1, I'll be mostly please. Also, hopefully the gameplay is good.

Super Mario Galaxy had co-op where the game allowed you to play as a second star cursor. It didn't do much to hinder or help the game and people could easily play without it. In my case here, PLAY WITHOUT IT!

The co-op is optional is it not? You don't need to play it with a buddy.

The original F.E.A.R was in my opinion, ''a perfect blend of pyschogical and pop up horror, combined with some of the best shooting effects in a game to date''.

F.E.A.R 2 is just blazing action with pop ups and blurry vision to scare gamers. To me the F.E.A.R series is dead and F.E.A.R 3 will only milk the franchise.
