Fable 3 doesn't excite me and does excite me. It's nice to hear that they're changing up the game a bit, since I loved Fable 1, and the 2nd from what I played felt like just a better looking version, only easier.

The reason I WOULDN'T be excited for it (besides the fact that I don't own my X360 or any Microsoft product) would be that it's going to require Natal. As much as Natal sounds "cool", it at the same time gives me an uneasy feeling about the future of gaming. I like controllers because when I play games, I like to lie back and relax, while I slaughter waves of people or solve mysteries or ect...I don't really like standing up and waving my arms, which is why I don't own my own Wii right now and when I steal my Girlfriend's again it's use will be significantly less that than my PS3. Natal to me takes the gaming out of gaming, and that's why I'm not too excited for Fable 3...because it uses Natal

I get the feeling I'm the only one who's looking forward to the next Fable game.

I played the 2nd Fable game, and I thought it was good, great even, it had a smooth combat system, well-told story, interesting quests, and the ability to earn money through real-estate. You probubly find Peter Molyneux's games are over-hyped, but I thought that game delivered almost exactly as Peter promised.

Which is probubly why I got high hopes for Fable 3, from what I was able to gather, you're still going as a Hero, but you get the cool by-product of overthrowing a tyrant and becoming Albion's new king/queen, and deciding how you would run the kingdom as one.

the only thing so far that has me worried is that supposing there's no health bar, or experience system, I wonder how Fable 3 is gonna manage combat without those things?

Also, there's a feature where your Hero will be able to touch other people, which I found strange that it didn't appear in previous Fable games, will you want to give your Fable 3 suitor a good french kiss? pick up your in-game child and give him a tour around Fable 3's new Bowserstone? or grab some beggar and sell him into slavery? I don't know exactly if all this things will be touch options in this game, but come on, I'm trying to make a point.

I'd like to see another interesting storyline for this game's quests, a more deep relationship system (the marriage system in Fable 2 was abit shallow, which was one of the game's few, even if still noticable flaws), and perhaps for Reaver to make another charming appearance somewhere (he is immortal after all, so it's likely he might.)
Well, while gameplay wise Fable 2 was very fun, I loved the sidequests and everything, I was disappointed in the game's very short, railroaded, NPC-Centric, overall stupid story, which is one of the first thing I look at in a videogame. I'm going to buy the next one only if they rectify that fact, otherwise I'm going to wait for an used copy. Not even low price, an used copy.
yeah, about that,

I got Fable 2 for $30, which I found to be a strange yet welcome deal.

Not excited. I didn't enjoy the fact that to maintain a wide open atmosphere, the plot was generic and vague regardless of the options you chose. And getting someone to marry me was like playing The Sims all over again... But I was hyped up for it when it came out, so 2012 Wont Happen may have a point.

I'm staying as far away from it as I can until it comes out. Fable II severely disappointed me because of Peter Molyneux hyping it up with half-truths as usual, the fucking prick.

I can't help but feel like it might become a SIM where you run a country and "touch" people, not that a Fable SIM would be ba but definitely a dissapointment.

In my opinion the Fable series is one of the most overrated, shallow, poorly written [http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=2105], easy and dull game series ever made. So no.
I agree. It's also one of the buggiest and most un-reponsive games ever made. "Smooth combat system"? A turd after eating corn is smoother than that!

Well my girlfriend is massively excited about yet another trip to Albion, but after just finishing Fable II I'm not really that excited about it

Call me the voice of dissent (or the voice of a guy who has paid attention to the pattern) but it's not going to be awesome. They'll make a million promise that will equal awesome and then the game will come out to fanfare until everyone plays it and sees that 90% of the promises never panned out and the 10% that did are half-assed at best. It's happened twice and if it doesn't happen again I will bet you all I will cut off my own ass and eat it.
