Fable 3 Opens With Depressing Chicken Movie

This is an excellent trailer, in a roundabout way. I may yet buy this game.

I don't know if i want to watch this or read the article. I'd rather wait for the game to see myself instead of teasing myself. Is it a mediocre cinematic?

It feels more like a trailer than an opening. It doesn't really lay out the setting aside from the fact that the world of industry has come to Albion, which we already know.

It has a subtle message in it though. It displays that something is wrong with the land and that your mission is going to be to bring justice to all. You almost want to do so for the sake of that chicken... I rather liked it.

Well, it reveals that it will look more like Fable 2's Albion than 2 looked like 1's. First thing Im looking for, is the tower.

I got warned for badmouthing Fable 3. The fact that they advertise on the Escapist does not mean we have to talk glowingly about the Fable Series. Fable and Fable 2 were both dissapointments, and the very same peopel are doing 3. I do not have to give them the benefit of the doubt after 2 horrible games, as well as the horrible Black & White. Do they warn Yahtzee for hating Fable and Fable 2? No, he is their most popular contributor. If Fable 3 is great, i will gladly post praising it. Until then, the weight of evidence is on my side, not Peter Mollycoddle's.

What are you talking about? People bash Fable 2 (a lot more than the first game) probably more often than they praise it around here. I'm one of those people. I've never been reprimanded for my rants about the game.

Well, it doesn't make me any more willing to buy the game but I gotta admit, that intro was kinda sad. One of the best intros I think I've ever seen.

Cool trailer i especially liked the hope bit, who knows maybe you will have to free the chickens to scared to run as your first act

Well, that was totally awesome. By far one of the best openings I've seen in a while, it perfectly fit the tone of the Fable series and set the scene of the game.

I think that it did feel like an opening scene and not just a trailer because of the ending. I get the feeling that maybe the king himself will open the window and pick up the feather and twirl it or something - a great segway into introducing him.

Also, I doubt I will ever kick another chicken in-game. Period.

That trailer, pardon, cinematic, was a breath of fresh air among the world of cinematics and plots. Taking the cliche story of the underdog hero and applying it through graphical mastership to a mere chicken's action is one hell of a way to make people talk about your game. Hopefully the story overall will live up to the expectations this cinematic shows..

play as the chicken...escape death and danger at every turn...

eventually lose weight from all the running away and actually somehow gain the power of flight at the end (instead of how the vid ended)

I predict that at some point in the game a different chicken will run from the chef except this time the other birds help the poor thing when it squarks for help.

Call it trying to see a happy side to the grim tale of the chicken.
