Fallout...Is not...Oblivion...WITH GUNS!

And I fear that Bethesda is making Oblivion with guns, and that is going to suck!
Explain how it isnt, in my eyes it's just Oblivion with VATS, different setting and guns..
Look at the fucking dates you tosser.

EDIT:I'm sorry, I'm drunk.

From bethsoft I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Personally I never cared for multiplayer (another excuse to be yelled at and told I'm n00b because I play the way I think is fun? Nah), and I liked Oblivion fine without it. The way I see it, Multiplayer Fantasy Game = WoW. Multiplayer Gunfight Game = CS/STALKER/UT3/HL/MoH/CoD. What could Fallout 3 offer in that regard?
Pretty much this. I think a new multiplayer game set in the Fallout Universe would be fine. Something like CoD:4 cum Shadowrun, but with power armour and super mutants. I might even buy that. But Fallout 3? The storyline, interface and controls aren't really made for multiplayer. That's one DLC I'd leave well alone.

Co-op would be pretty fun. It'd be alot easier to take down groups of Raiders and Enclave. You could have roles. One guy could be up front with big guns, and the other(s) could be back sniping or lobbing grenades. I've learned that tactic after several raider battles.

On the other hand, I think that a MMO could be fun. The thing about massively multiplayer games is that it's a living, breathing world. Instead of battling the same enemies in a static world, you could form factions, control territories. You would be forced to think and change your strategies instead of applying generic tactics based off of what enemy you face. The gameplay would be fueled by the other players. Your weapons, clothing, items, locales, friends, and enemies would be affected by your experiences with other people.

I suppose VATS could work in real time. It would lose alot of it's charm, though. If they did The Pip-Boy in real time, it wouldn't be such a big deal, though. If they did a co-op Fallout, you could earn a perk that gives a copy of any item you earn to your partner. It could be called "Double Trouble" or something XD

Everyone keeps going "VATS wouldn't work!!!" and it's really annoying because EVERYONE is saying it and it is extremely simple to remove VATS from Fallout 3. Also, multiplayer would be optional if it were a mod, so atmosphere, immersion, etc complaints don't really apply.

(hmm... long time, no post...) I personally think that co-op would be great and i dont use V.A.T.S much, and i've heard that the ones who made "oblivion onine" mod are working on a fallout 3 online, but it's only in 0.5 beta stage and will take time. and you guys who dont want co-op in fallout 3, just don't download the mod. how easy could it be?
oblivion online forum: obliviononline.com there are a few topics there about Fallout online :)

I think it'd be cool to have a multiplayer deathmatch sort of thing. Everyone in the whole world who's playing it on any platform, all in the Fallout 3 world, whoever you see, you shoot. Actually that'd suck because I'd definitely die as soon as I spawn. It'd also lag like fuck.

Wouldn't work, but it would be cool, online if it was splitscreen multi, not online.

Co-op COULD work, but it would be difficult to determine who gets what, and VATS would pretty much be impossible to do since it would require stopping time for both people.

piece of trivia. An official FAllout MMO would be imbossible, especially if you would put it in a bethesda release (Fallout 3 multiplayer), because black isle still owns the rights to a fallout multiplayer game. which i like, because Fallout 3 is worse than 1 and 2. It's a great game, but still... Nothing can top the second one.
