Pretty much what Mariena said.

More dialogue options. More ENDINGS, damn it. And the ability to play the game after main quest. In the retail version, not in "maybe future" patch.
Amen to the "more endings" part. AFter putting 95+ hours into my character, I there to be more than one possible ending!

A pilotable Vertibird.

I daydream about how EPIC it would be too fly up to the top of tennpenny tower and machinegun tennpenny Neo-style maybe with Ride of the Valkyries playing in the background.

...and other vehicles.

All I want is more of what we had in the game which is new inventive weapons, more areas to explore and more enemies/items/npcs/quests.etc

Another thing is that I still don't think Bethesda have really succeeded in making their characters feel alive it's still like Oblivion. Some more character dialogue would be nice as while.

What was a disaster in Fallout 3 was that ya couldnt level higher than 25..
And thats just retarded, had reached that level half way through the game..
That also means that u can never get all the perks and stuff..

And a little more variety in the map, the oasis was a cool break from the mayhem of a atomic war on the landscape.. And most of the caves and such was all very similar..

And co-op story mode would be awesome..

Other than that i loved the game..

In the upcoming DLC the level cap is raised to 30 but it's apparently quite tough to get there.

Less Oblivion, more Fallout. That's all.
Hahaha...
Spot on...
But they can allso include vehicles, remove the level cap, make a better story and make the characters way less oblivion like.

*edit*
OH... and make the game less VATS dependant... i'm sick of having to enter vats to kill something.

I definitly agree with intergrating the SPECIAL attributes into the gameplay more but I would like to see more stuff in the wasteland, I mean I have traveled up and down the wasteland and most of it is just rocks and dirt, and that is boring.

No actually they already announced Fallout 4 to be released around 2010-2011. The Lead developper said a long time ago in an interview that since Fallout 3 took so damned long they were going to make sure players had to wait no more than 3 years to play the next one. the interview is available on IGN.

But what i would like to see is the aesthetic beauty of Fallout 3 mixed with the openness of Fallout. Why you ask wasn't fallout 3 a worthy successor, NO. For one You could no get married, nor could you kill children and the most annoying of all was that you could scrol all the stats down to zero and it had no effect.

In Fallout you could get married and sell your spouse of as a prostitute or slave, if you had an intelligence below 3 you would be a post apocalyptic cave man communicating in grunts and moans. I missed the freedom and depth of the previous Fallout because everything had been made politically correct and the depth of gameplay had been scaled down.

It wasn't a bad game, it just stagnated the series a bit. However bring all that shit back in Fallout 4 and I will be happy.

This, It would be nice to see a Fallout title that dont copy-paste everything from another franchise, yeah, its the same company, but Fallout 3 is a joke of a game, its like a well made mod of Oblivion.

So yeah, it would be nice to see an actual Fallout game on next-gen consoles, and not Oblivion 1.5

It'd be suave if they didn't make every character in the game so exaggerated and "individual" that I just wanted to kill them.

I also don't understand why everybody in the post-apocalyptic future has an earnings clipboard and has lost the ability to put rubbish in some kind of designated area. They could be living in much better conditions if they would realise that they can actually pick some of the crap that's strewn all over the ground and put it in a bin. But no! They wallow in the filth and then ***** about it in their useless filler dialogue.

Fallout 3 is most interesting when you're exploring on quests, but the NPCs don't offer any kind of reward for doing so by being people who you could care at all about. If I stuff up a quest and everyone dies, I don't care. None of them were anything like real people, anyway.

I'm by no means calling it a bad game, but in the future, Bethesda really needs to think about in-game characters as a reason to play a game, not just a functional and perfunctory way to distribute quests.

Last I heard, can't remember what company it was, but they have the rights to making a Fallout MMO.

I would love to so the commonswealth! and the institute! maybe find out the orgin of the super mutants and find the absolute end of the enclave! that would rock! It would be kinda cool if you could chose a race in it as well you know! like: Human, alien or ghoul! all with their special abilties and factors!
Humans: allmost everyhuman living is now under the protection of the brotherhood of steel, living in seetlements all over the world the human race are begining to rebuild and repopulate the earth, the brotherhood are still searching for technology that can help them but are more focused on protection now.
Alien: a group of aliens have become stranded on earth, joining forces with the enclave they hope to take the earth for their own since they cannot return to their own planet. Enemies of the brotherhood of steel, the supermutants and all ghouls the alien themself suports the enclave and their goals and ideals of a new brighter tommorow!
Ghouls: Ghouls are ex-humans living in underground cities all over the world! they are unfriendly with the brotherhood of steel and the enclave and have therefore made their own military force... (I got no idea for a name xD) and with the low tech power armor they have (the old fashioned one, from the you gotta shoot em in the head quest) they are a small but powerfull rebellion against the human, they are also nutreal with the supermutants, meaning they will not open fire to ghouls unless the ghould itself attacks, feral ghouls are also friendly with them.
Imagine the possibilities! 3 different main-quest lines! I might just be way over my head here but I would really love that!

Vehicles are pretty much impossible, considering the whole fallout situation was caused by a lack of resources i.e. petrol and uranium.
But Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, also something was fuelling that giant robot at the end, vehicles wouldn't be impossible just, difficult, if they put them in it wouldn't be like Far Cry 2 where there's a car or boat round every corner, they would be much more of a rarity

I want a series of pikes mounted with the heads of all the fallout fanboys who demand the game be more like Fallout 2; if I wanted to play Fallout 2 again I would play Fallout 2 again!

Fallout 4 should have weather, Oblivion had rain and fog but Fallout 3 just has endless sunshine. Fallout 4 could have a nuclear winter with the occasional acid rain though fallout fanboys would still chastize it while holding fallout 2 so tightly it cuts off what little oxygen can still get to their brains. I am being this harsh on those fools because I read a fallout fanboy's complaint that Fallout 3 didn't have the Fallout feel because the vault suits are made out of fabric instead of elastic; I followed his idiocy back to the Duck and Cover forums where his fellow posters joined him in insulting Fallout 3 for not being Fallout 2 with new cover art.

A lot of dialogue in FO3 was pretty weak, so better dialogue for FO4.

Scarcity! Why is there valuable junk lying around everywhere and unguarded? The scavs should've picked clean all the accessible places a long time ago. Too much loot made an easy game even easier.

Better AI. Weak AI made companions less useful and the encounters easy.

Larger settlements with a more believeable economy. Where are all the farms?
