@ "Peta Michalek" Being rude doesn't get you far on this forum dude, for the most part everyone here is accepting of other people's opinions.

OT, I don't know anything about the Fallout universe, hell, I don't even know what 'canon continuity' means, but I do love playing games which are linked to others, not just sequels, but games that acknowledge the games before it.

I have wondered at that myself, being a huge fan of Lyons Brotherhood of Steel I hope they are in the game to some degree, or are at least shown to be doing well.

Why do you think it's DLC? I mean it's not even downloadable (for your own sake don't mention steam).
EDIT: Your lattest post makes me think you are trolling, I really hope you're not.

Clever.

Of course locations will be different. It's a new area. You saw any giant alien motherships in vanilla Fallout 3?
I have no idea how New Vegas Raiders, Deathclaws and Orcs - sorry, Super Mutants - will be different from Fallout 3 Raiders, Deathclaws and Orcs. Maybe they'll be slightly taller?

Plus Fallout 3 is still my most frequently played single-player game
Sorry to hear that.

I'd just be curious if any events from Fallout 3 are made canon for Vegas or if they just decide to skirt the issue. The change of locale is something to keep in mind.

And stop feeding Peta, the guy's a hater, ignore him. Reminds me of the kid who tried to get his dad to appeal the result of the soccer game I officiated. Their appeal fell flat but he didn't seem to realize that.

Again, you brandish about the English language without knowing it. There is nothing clever in those two quotes, so I assume that you believe you are clever by pointing out I made them both. You are not.

Does the fact that I last played Warcraft 2 over a decade ago and barely remember the story of it make me not know a thing about it? No, I still know the basic locales, factions, broad overview of story, gameplay, etc... (Short version: I still have knowledge of the game)

And I definitely have more interest in it than you. If someone had interest in FO1,2, and NV (even without playing them), and were talking about them, I wouldn't mind.

At least I played them (most of 1, all of 2). I don't need to remember every detail to know about the games. I can still remember the broad overview of the games. I just want to refresh on the details. You show neither interest or knowledge. Anyways, didn't I say I would be ignoring you? Damn, I need to work on what appears to be the onset of short-term memory loss.

Go here for all currently known information:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas

For the record, FNV is stated to be far closer to F1&2 than F3, despite the same engine.

There is supposed to be very little fallout from the events in the DC wasteland, and the game mostly centers around building up reputation with several factions, many diametrically opposed.

You've filled this thread completely pointless posts. No-one gives a shit if you dislike the game, and I feel sorry for those baited into pointlessly defending it from you.

The thread was made to discuss potential canon, so please leave your opinion on the game at the door.

OT: If this wiki is anything to go by:

"The story [of New Vegas] will continue some parts of the Fallout and Fallout 2 stories, but
will not be related in any way to the one in Fallout 3."

So, I guess it'll definitely have a fair few mentions to 1/2. I haven't given it any thought though. I never played 1, and don't remember enough of 2 to effectively speculate. I expect I'll wait until playing the game, and get all excited when certain things are mentioned.

Heh, guess they should've named this one Fallout 3, and FO3 should've been Fallout: The Capital Wasteland. I just hope that this modern generation knows a bit about FO1&2. Because if they don't get any of the references, they may be kind of confused with no tie-ins to FO3, other than the occasional faction mention, and the super mutants. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people are disappointed just because the references to the previous entries into the series are older than they are.

Also, If Obsidian keeps the Fallout IP, or if it goes handed back to Bethesda, I wonder how FO3 will tie into canon. If Bethesda gets it, I'm pretty sure FO3 will stay canonical. If Obsidian keeps it, who knows? I'm interested to see how that all goes.

I'm curios to see if they've got the balls to tackle this one.

The prudent move would be to avoid canon stuff, especially now. The rights changed owners n all that, and who's to say what the original guys had decided on for the released VanBuren?

I think the focus should be on delivering a good (super awesome personality changing) game worthy of the Fallout title and spicy and debatable canon issues should be deftly avoided. Out of respect for hardcore fallout fans, who might piss on a good fallout or at least fallout-ish :) game because they misspelled Arroyo. Ignorant illiterates that they are.

Can we just start ignoring the dude that clearly is just here to mock fallout fans, specially when it's the dude that claims that Halo single-handedly invented the modern FPS model.

Don't worry. The Escapist Faction shall hold them off.
And if they are defeated, well, let's just say that there are certain measures in place to eliminate the hostiles.

But honestly, I'm looking forward to New Vegas, as I just gor FO3, and it's bloody brilliant!

Harold's not dead... :(
Whether he's canonically dead or alive, he's kind of, umm...put down some roots in the Capital Wasteland. Not gonna see him out West!
=)) damn right!! bloody tree-hungers. I knew we should have torched that stupid Oasis.

nice to see the events from 3 becoming canon. the baby is growing up nicely :p

I believe this is a full new game not just DLC.

I think they might just do what they did with Fallout 3, not metion to much of the other games with maybe a few nods to the old games.
