Fallout 2 was made by Black Isle Studios under Interplay... and we all know what Interplay did to Van Buren and Black Isle Studios. They're hardly the best Publisher to deal with. The team was also larger for the first Fallout than it was for Fallout 2 -- admittedly most were artists and such, but in the end they lacked the same team or time. Obsidian only has a fracture of the Black Isle Studios team from Fallout 2, the rest went to Troika and I think Activision was the Publisher for them - at the time of death - and subsequently killed them, possibly inadvertently.WanderFreak said:Hey now, Obsidian has done this before! I mean, they made Fallout... 2.Woodsey said:Developed by Obsidian.
I warn everyone to seriously lower their expectations - at least then you can be pleasantly surprised instead of crushingly disappointed.
And Knights of the Old Republic... 2.
And they're not using that same engine Bethesda does that's buggier than all hell and... oh, they are.
So... yeeeeeeeeah.
I don't; they're just the better developer. I was predicting, obviously we can't tell for certain.SomeBoredGuy said:No, Team Gizka is dead. I checked their website. It doesn't exist.Woodsey said:Ultra-snip
And, I don't want to start any arguments here, but how do you know that BioWare, with the same limitations, would produce a much better project?
I really don't know what you're talking about...EHKOS said:And what was that shit about not being able to enter the water city and then having someone tell you to go there later?
I feel what you're saying, including the rest of your posts in this thread. You are pretty much dead on.Woodsey said:Developed by Obsidian.

Troika was the better half of Black Isle Studio's breakup. Or at least when it came to programming the game... if only they synced up with Obsidian to bring themselves whole again.Jandau said:-SNIP!-
P.S. I miss Troika...
You could aim down the sight in Fallout 3...?Omikron009 said:I'm almost crying tears of joy right now. It's fallout 3, my favourite game of all time....and you can aim down the sight. It was literally my one wish for New Vegas. The only thing I wanted changed. They did it.
That's probably just mere speculation because in magazines that have come out recently and information given out by Obsidian, you ARE a courier and everything i've just said has been confirmed.Kalezian said:Flamezdudes said:No, you're all wrong. Your character is a courier who was shot in the head and left to die. A friendly robot finds you and takes you back to a Doctor who fixes you up. This is where you choose your looks and skills. He gives you a pipboy and an old vault suit since the doctor used to be a vault dweller. This is all been CONFIRMED.Kalezian said:Patrick_and_the_ricks said:Nope, he is not. You can find the suit however.Korten12 said:I believe your character is from a vault, some screenshots showed him wearing a vault outfit.-Samurai- said:Umm...why did the player have a pipboy? Was the character a vault dweller(I dont believe so)? If not, that seems kinda lazy not to invent a new inventory/map/status screen. Little things like that break games for me.
Hopefully the story explains it.
somewhere I read that he/she is from a vault, but you have been outside for a long time before the game starts. could be wrong, but I think I read that on some post.
see: http://www.gametrailers.com/news/fallout-new-vegas-details/1712
so now we have a link the supports Nev Vegas possibly having multiple beginnings AND keeping the basic storyline the same for every charater.
critical thinking should be used before you attempt to claim that everyone is wrong, since right now I am laughing that since you think that main story = only one character back-story.

They're both nuclear wastelands, how could they different?ProfessorLayton said:You know, this reminds me of back when I was getting excited for Fallout 3 and watching all the preview videos as soon as I could and looked up everything I could...
I really hope they don't mess this up, and by the looks of it they will be... it seems like they're taking the Fallout 3 model and shoving extra crap down its throat... but who knows, this could turn out better than I expect.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I saw the first shot of him walking around and I could see no changes whatsoever...Claptrap said:Apart from the weapons that looked like fallout 3 to me.
i agree, obsidian has ruined games before *kotor2*.Woodsey said:Developed by Obsidian.

obsidian IS lazy, they never invent anything, they use the same engine as the last game and they still manage to screw it up.-Samurai- said:Umm...why did the player have a pipboy? On the West Coast, Super Mutants have been non-hostile for a while. A good example is the town of Broken Hills in Fallout 2.silver wolf009 said:Im intrigued by that friendly mutant. Mabye Fawkes escaped and is raising an army for good. That'd be epic.
It wasn't literal ironsight aiming, just a slight zoom in.TimeLord said:You could aim down the sight in Fallout 3...?Omikron009 said:I'm almost crying tears of joy right now. For one thing... they're on different sides of America... I know that they would all look quite similar, but this looks copy-pasted straight out of Fallout 3. The design is nearly exactly the same, but they could have at least thrown in a bit more buildings and slightly different setpieces. Of course, I could explore the wasteland of Fallout 3 for hours, so maybe that's not too much of a problem. Also, this is just one little clip from it and they could be holding a lot back.ICanBreakTheseCuffs said:They're both nuclear wastelands, how could they different?
