I've said it before and I'll say it again - A proper bloody light!!

If a large part of your game involves exploring pitch black tunnels/caves and dingy gloomy buildings then is it too much to ask for a light that, you know, actually lights things up.The Pip-boy light in FO3 was about as effective as a mobile phone screen
Well it was basically a really big digital watch so maybe that's asking too much xD

I realty enjoyed fallout 3, i mean it's Vegas, so brighten that colour pallet and you'll probably have a winner.

Edit: Actually, I'd like the option to kill children. Don't think I'd ever use it, but to make the little fuckers invulnerable in a nuclear wasteland? So much for realism, so much for "be the most evil bastard this side of Armageddon" and so much for freedom of choice. I mean you can Side with a group of "vampires" but you can't shoot a kid in the face, but the minute one is too old to stay in a cave he dies as you try and escort him to safety.

Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed FO3 as well.I just found the tunnel/cave exploration a bit of a chore due to the fact you could only see about 2 feet in front of you

A bigger variety of enemies, better combat, and a longer main questline would do it for me.
That being said, F3 is one of my favorite games.

I would love it if they used S.M.A.R.T in New Vegas (see Brink)

Also if Avoiding combat didn't mean that you couldn't level up.

More ability for game changing, for example it would be awesome if you could become a ghoul after being exposed to too much radiation or become a super mutant by choosing to go into the goo or join with the "bad guys" And make sure that the player can kill who they want, surely these guys at Bethesda can come up with some sort of system where important NPC's do not get killed by Raiders without stopping the player from doing so.

Put WAY more time towards NPC interaction and voices. Hate the fact that every other character has the same voice, and refuses to move in conversation.

Bigger world map, bethesda really cut back on the world, Ovblivion was huge, I've played through it over 10 times and each time I find a place I never knew about, I do play with alot of mods granted, but my first 4 play throughs of vanilla I was like 'Jeez.. No wonder there is a fast travel system.' But Fallout 3 just seemed so small, might have been as it was'nt as open as Oblivion, might be due to the places only acsessed via tunnels and what have you, but go through them once, kill everything and no respawns, so it's just dull.

Oh thats another thing, indoor respawns, why they left that out I will never know, are the raiders to dumb to go back in those tunnels?

1: Something that isn't just a larger revamp of New Reno from Fallout 2.

2: Decent character development in conjunction with strong, immersive dialogue.

3: The atmosphere which was present in the first two games.

4: A challenging experience which requires thought and inference in order to make complex moral decisions.

5: Ambiguity and not being spoon-fed the story.

And finally, 6: A story which stays true to the canon of the Fallout universe.

I would love to see V.A.T.S. and the pipboy come back, and have some sort of back story as to how your character came across them, since your character does not original come from a vault. I would also like to see a better aiming system where you actually aim down the sights, like any other FPS.

Basically more like Fallout 1+2, less like Fallout 3 (or Oblivion) I don't have my hopes high though even though its being developed by Obsidian...
A company founded by people who made Fallout 2... your low hopes makes about as little sence as possible.
He said 'even though' it was being made by Obsidian, which implies he thinks thier work is good.

Obsidian made Neverwinter Nights 2, which was shit. Obsidian made DnD Online, which was shit. Obsidian made Dragonshard, which was shit. Obsidian is making Fallout New Vegas. I hope they don't continue the pattern.

. . .

Well, when I first played Fallout 3, I noticed that shooting certain surfaces made 3D bullet holes, and I was all like "OMFG NO WAI". Then I realized it served no purpose, and I was all like "OMFG THERES A BULLET HOLE IN THE BULLET HOLE". Anyway I hope Fallout New Vegas utilizes destructible terrain, so I can kick the door down or shoot a hole in the wall instead of fucking picking the lock with my needle dick.

Mainly I just want to see a better story and characters. That was my main bug with Fallout 3. There where so many plot holes that it looked like a fucking golf coarse. I've love a return to the believable interesting characters of Fallout 1.

Apart from that I've had enough of the Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave and Super Mutants. From what we've seen so far it looks like Super Mutants are the only ones returning so I'm a happy bunny.

They need to sort out the balance issues as you level. I'd loved that feeling near the beginning of the game where your scared shitless of a bloat fly and every moment is a fight for survival. Once you reach level 12 or so that feeling just disappears. Hopefully Hardcore mode should sort this out.

From what I've heard so far New Vegas seems to be meet all my Fallout needs. I can't wait.

I'd like to see weapons that look more like the sprites of the first two games. The ones in 3 were not "futuristic" enough. That and the story and the lack of choice in factions. You were doomed to join the Brotherhood like it or not. So ultimately there was no replay-ability.
well since the tech stopped evoling really at ww3 I would imagine that most weapons would nto be futuristic and have a nice retro feel to them
Actually they(at least the "energy" weapons) should look futuristic. The Plasma rifle looked like a squirt gun and the Laser rifle looked like a long nine volt battery. Basically they should look more like something from some old cheesy 50's sci-fi flick. They look stupid in 3.

Of those games Obsidian have only made NWN2.

Multiplayer would be my top priority. I would also like realistic gore, Fallout 3 is way more over-the-top than it should be (except with Bloody Mess). I think the cannibalism perk should involve show you eating people, so you can visually tell the difference between eaten and uneaten bodies.

Some vaults that survived the centuries would be AWESOME. My favourite part of Fallout 3 was running into towns that had a completely different way of life, like Andale or the Republic of Dave. A vault would be a great way to show this.

I really want this game to be as good or even better than fallout 3. But something in my gut tells me that it's not going to be as good. If they just stick to the basic formula that fallout 3 provided, then I'm fine.

OT: I would like to see some cool new weapons and armor. Larger map, with more places to explore. Maybe some new types of enemies.
