Fallout 3 greenish-trashy backround was boring and uninteresting.
I think that the dark trashy background was to show the sad and depressing state of the world you were in. If you look at the NV stuff, you see it more colorful, and less damaged, not hit as hard as D.C. was, and therefor less depressing than FO3 was

I want to see just a larger world. More of everything, more missions, more locations, more people, ect. Also, more enemies hiding out along the wasteland. The reason is that it kept the journeys fun and the enemies kept you on your toes. Oh, the biggest new addition, more radio stations w/ more songs. I'm almost able to sing all of Three Dog's songs, which were great, but it was that, patriotic enclave propaganda, or if you did the mission Agatha's violin, which was nice, but still, more of it would be better.

Just more of the experience is what I want, the more the merrier ^^

I once heard a rumor somewhere that the game will include vechicles you can ride.

and that the scale of the game will be considerably larger than Fallout 3.

So I'd like to see those things.

As I am reading up on Fallout 1 and 2 I would like to see more references to the first two games, and have the Master come back in some way, or something
As interesting as the Master was, it's also nigh impossible for him to survive being repeatedly shot by you and then a nuclear explosion set off to destroy his base. He doesn't even have legs to escape with.

Things I would like to see:
The return of eye shots as the most difficult and most rewarding Vats target.
The Highwayman. Make fast travel impossible before the player acquires one so that fast travel makes sense for once.
I would like radiation to be a serious threat instead of a minor irritation.
Well the Master COULD come back, in the history of fictional video game/comic characters, people have come back from worse, be it soul possession or traces of DNA in the F.E.V

also whats "The Highwayman?"
The Highwayman was your car in Fallout 2, it was also a pretty major sidequest to repair it to the point of functionality. Once you had it you could use it to fast travel across the wastelands at the expense of energy cells (which by the midgame were fairly plentiful so it's only a small price).

Does "I'd like to see it hurry up and be released" count? Seriously, I've been waiting for this for so damn long.

That would actually be kick ass.....and make more sense then just opening the map and fast traveling there (cause honestly, how the hell does the main character of FO 3 get to places so fast?)

This.
Fo3 atmosphere was dull at best.
Were you expecting herds of antelope and purple rasin dragons painting waterfalls? its a nuclear holocaust! i found the opressive cityness of fallout 3 immersive, myself :p

Better humor
More interesting perks
FUCKING GECKOS
Better use of VATS
A story that doesn't trip over itself with the fate of the world only to end too soon
More crazy hilarity
Less limbs flying off (it's not fun if you see it all the time)
A proper final boss
BETTER FACIAL ANIMATIONS
More level variation
Less walking around clearing dungeons for no fucking reason (i.e. the Oblivion effect)
REPAIRING ITEMS SHOULDN'T COST COPIES OF OTHER FUCKING ITEMS
...you didnt like the game, did you.

A few very nice features have confimed to be added, such as:
Aim down iron sights
You can aim down the iron sights? Oh man, this game just keeps getting better and better. I mean, they had me at "concealable cut-throat razor", but now I'm just getting unbearably excited.
Yeah I'm pretty sure I have seen that somewhere on the internet.

It does seem a bit stupid not to use them, also it would make the shooting aspect off fallout MUCH better.

Concealable cut throat razor?? :O
Not heard that one yet? Is it some sort of Assassins creed kinda shit?
Oh, I agree with you there; Iron sights will make shooting an awful lot more fun.

Nah, the razor is just a standard cut-throat razor, but it's one of the few weapons you can sneak past the casino guards. Hence "concealable".
Ahh very nice, so more similar to how you can sneak a switch blade into the pitt?
And does that mean most towns will not allow you to enter with weapons? Or is this just in casinos?

Bethesda making it.

But seriously, Obsidian doesn't have a good track record, even if it is formed out of some employees who made Fallout 1 and 2.

As for New Vegas, I would want to see Iron Sights and more options for companions. Maybe even some stuff that was modded into Fallout 3, become standard in NV.

Honestly, I think I'm one of the few people that don't want this..
I just think that a "motorbike" in Fallout for example would feel like the horses in Oblivion and they were terrible.
Maybe its just because I'm more of a stealthy character and i like to explore every centimetre of the wasteland. A vehicle would make me feel as if i were missing out on too much.

I just hope Obsidian will deliver a complete game for once, look what happened with Alpha Protocol.(hopefully Bethesda will keep them in line). Besides that, a little more humor, like the original games, would be nice.

I would like to see more fluid character movement. I always felt that the NPC's and PC moved kinda stiff when walking/running around. I consider this really important for the immersion.
Also people not flinching when you pump 15 pounds of lead into them kinda bugged me!

Implementation of a cover system would not be a bad thing either, as long as it's not so rigid as in Mass effect 2, in ME it was really forced upon you which i didn't really like.
Vehicles to move around in would be cool as well. That would give it a more mad max feel to it.
I remember a mod for FO3 that made you use scrap metal to repair your guns/armor instead of copied equipment, it felt soooo much better and helped more also, it also gave you a buyable backpack which increased your 'weight carried'.

1.A story that wasnt penned by a retard.

2.Gameplay slighlty more challenging than a nice relaxing stroll. In fallout 3 your supposed to be a 19yr old dude/dudet kicked out of a cloistered protected life into a harsh wasteland full of hard bastards who want to kill you and mutated beasties. And yet after a few levels and bits of gear i was pwning everything. Fallout 3 is not a difficult game, and given the setting it really should be and that actually destracted from the immersion for me.

So basically i want a good story and a nice challenge. Oh wait, its by Obsidian and theyve already announced hardcore mode. Looks like im going to get my wishes! Customizable guns are made of win as well.

I want to see Obsidian finish a game for once and give it some polish so it's in a complete and playable state at release. Yes, I know, a tall order...
Thank you for that totally off topic pointless comment, next time, read the title.
Stop trolling, please. I doubt this thread needs you defending it...

My comment wasn't off topic. It is what I want to see. A finished game. Something Obsidian isn't known for. They can make a great game, but never finish it, shipping unpolished products that should have stayed in development longer. From what I've heard, Alpha Protocol (their latest game) seems to follow that pattern. So while I have confidence that Obsidian will have great ideas to improve Fallout 3 with New Vegas, my main concern is that they'll fail to implement those ideas properly and as a result we'll recieve a sub-par product.
