Give the rights to Uwe Boll, I would be interested to see how he would make one of the best games of the year into one of the worst movies in history.

You should be aware that there have been very few games that have made good movies. Every one that was successful had to stray so far from the original source material to be adapted for mainstream Hollywood audiences that it could be said they were "Video Game Movies" based ONLY on the fact that they had the same title (See Resident Evil, Tomb Raider).

And if you need proof, I site these IMDB entries.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0173840/ -- Which I personally really enjoyed but it was a flop

I'm sure forums like this have been done before. I just didn't really find any in my morning run-through. And last night when my wife and I went to see Wall-E (Hilarious movie, great job by Pixar as always) I found myself thinking;

"You know what would have amazing potential as a video-game movie..? Fallout. 'Nuff said"

Such a tremendous story, a wonderful environment to work with, the protagonist can easily be related to your every-day man...They just built it so well (in my opinion) I think, under the right director, and script writer..It could very well redeem the failing 'Video-game Movie' franchise.

Discuss?

Also, feel free to point out any other games that you feel have amazing movie potential, etc.
The Road

Wow. Someone won the screaming retard award for this post. All games are linear. Unless They're MMOs, They all have a beginning and and an end, and they're all basically guiding you along the entire way through it in spite of their admissions that they're not. to make it seem like adhering to the storyline was entirely your idea, but in the end, they're still doing it. Fallout an Oblivion just use a softer hand as opposed to something like a Final Fantasy where they use an electric cattle prod.

...Oblivion's hand was...soft? I seem to remember a glowing green arrow.

however good material the game is, films based on videogames are always crap. vice versa with film based-games. (except Golden Eye of course, but thats the exception not the rule as everyone knows)
