I was just watching a family guy episode on Fox 8, this was the show where peter is in a 3D cinema watching a movie where Michael Jackson jumps out of the screen and grabs a little kid and runs off.

I'm not a Michael Jackson fan and did not hate him, but seeing this made me pause and think should they really have broadcasted this show so soon after his death. The date is the 14th of July. Whats everyone's opinion?

A bit too soon but at least they're only skimming over it with caricature, rather than making any real effort at attacking him.

I just saw it too. Heh it was pretty funny. His fans won't like it, but then they wouldn't have liked it 3 weeks ago either. All the MJ jokes that went around in text messages 90 seconds after it was on the news were way harsher than that one.

That episode is old. (4th season as I remember)
This. That scene has been shown countless times, MJ never said anything about it when he was alive, so I don't see a problem here.

If fans suddenly decide to take offence then we can just tell them to pay more attention to things that happened something like 3 or 4 years ago.

As far as I recall that clip is from an episode around the 5/6 season, so it's really not too soon as it's been around a long while, though if Fox wanted to show sensitivity they should maybe have bothered to look what was in the episode.

I prefer the codemonkys episode were he gets burned, bleached gets his nose clawed off and looses a hand

I don't think it's too soon. I agree that there were a lot harsher going around back rooms and text messages and front rooms and what not.

That and that scene was funny as hell.

ok 1) his death doesn't erase the bad things he did in life, nor should it prevent us from talking about it.
and 2) all the fans that were crying over his death need to remember that they didn't know him, didn't meet him, probably never saw him in person in their life. He was a celebrity no your grandmother GET OVER IT.

1. Who cares?
2. Yes, they should have aired it. It was 5 seconds in an episode not centered around MJ.
3. Everyone needs to shut the fuck up about Michael Jackson.

That reminds me of the other MJ skit. "The kid in me likes the frosted side." "But the grown-up in me likes the kid in me."

So his death means that we can no longer joke about him?

That scene was old, and they didn't predict Jacko's death wen they wrote it. Also bear in mind that even if it was three years after his death it would still be just as offensive.

i'm still pissed about the episodes of DBZ and Cowboy Bebop that got cut because of 9/11. granted those were premiere episodes and this was a rerun, but honestly not enough people care to justify the effort.
