Far Cry 2 for $10, worth it?

Steam's selling Far Cry 2 for $10 bucks, and I wanted an opinion before I pull the trigger. I'm pretty poor at the moment, 25 bucks is all the cash I have. But the only games I have at the moment are Team Fortress 2 and STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl seeing as my PS3 died due to human moron-ness.

So, worth it?

Hey, you can at least ditch the plot of the game and approach it like a hunting game where you get shot at.
I didn't play it, but I watched a friend of mine kill wild animals. That has some entertainment value...

Same here. It was a lot of fun. Only a pity that those guards keep respawning once you revisit a guard point and that the stealthy approach is next to impossible in this game. You'd fart and they'd know exactly where you are.

That's what I get for upgrading my gear to a silenced submachine gun and pistol.

sure, for ten bucks go for it. I mean it's not like a huge some of money if you hate it and if you like it then it's worthwhile

Considering I regretted renting it for $8 it's all a matter of personal choice. I really can get into a long and somewhat monotonous RPG, but FC2 really got me to the point of pretty much falling asleep while playing it.

A tip though for you lucky PC gamer. I'm pretty sure there is a mod (haven't checked but there is always a mod for everything AMIRITE?) that removes that freaking malaria. Nothing is like sneaking up on a guy then getting a malaria spasm long enough for him to see you.

And he will see you because as I'm sure you have heard everyone in FC2 has the vision of a hawk. My advice? Get Torchlight if you like Diablo, since it is an amazing game. Or of course get a cool indie game like Spelunky http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=4017.0 to help with your monetary problem.

If you like STALKER you'll probably like Far Cry 2. It gets repetitive sometimes, but it's quite fun.

Far Cry 2 isn't even worth 1 dollar. It's extremely repetitive and dull despite the open environments, and it'll take ages to finish it thanks to the stupid placing of quests and targets. It's just not worth it, you'll grow tired of it before you're halfway through it.

id say its definately worth ten bucks but it does seem like a niche title
alot of people didnt like it and alot of people did
it a love it or hate it kind of title
i personally like it alot and find it highly enjoyable
my suggestion is to get the demo first and see if you like it
either way i highly reccommend it
