My favorites from the 1st Gen were Charmeleon, Squirtle, Mew, and Haunter. But all in all, I liked most of them anyway. Except for Bellsprout. I always hated that one for some reason. I'm not sure why though.

I basically liked all of the first generation and the second, got a bit sick of all these random pokemon afterward like.
I really liked Gengar,Lapras,Onyx,Syther and Machop though

All of them they were all pure awesome.

The only reason I think people don't like the new generation is that they can't remember it all.
Anyway my personal favourite among the first generation was MewTwo, Why? Because I was the first among my neighbourhood to catch him and everyone treated me like some Pokemon god given that 5 or so people watched me do it after that.
