Jolteon. Awesome-looking little guy, decently fast (I honestly never paid much attention to the other stats), and a giant factor in my type-advantage strategy. After all, he's only truly vulnerable to ground, but he can beat down normal, water, flying, rock, ice, grass, poison, and psychic. With the right combination, that is (Thunderbolt, Double Kick, Pin Missile, and either Quick Attack or Sand Attack).

Besides, he won singlehandedly against Mewtwo when I fought against him in Pokemon Stadium. Left an impression.

That one that's like an armadillo made out of yellow bricks, and it's evolution.
Sandshrew and Sandslash. They were pretty awesome; I liked using them as my ground/rock factor (hooray for Earthquake, Slash, Rock Slide, and Sand Attack!).

Noting how the OP asked for favorite pokemon is a singular kinda way, my favorite was Arcanine. Wolves are my favorite animals and fire was my favorite type of pokemon.

Ditto would be my favorite. The only thing the trainer needs to do now is train a Ditto to be able to copy every technique he/she gets hit by, even Legendaries.

I have to agree, loved the first two generations but the rest were average and lame. I liked them all, I can't just choose one, it's impossible! Sorry if that doesn't help.

Dragonite.
Hey, I like my psuedo-legendaries. (Actually I just liked Dragonite because it was freaking adorable, but also quite powerful, unless you have an icetype).
In fact, Dragonite's still my favourite Pokemon.
I also like Blastoise cause of it's wide move variety. Blastoise is my dragon killer - it had Ice Beam and Earthquake and was all-round awesome.

I really liked Pokemon Yellow because you could easily have a team of Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard and basically own everything that got in your way. 8D
The starters just ain't what they used to be.

Alakazam, Gyrados, and Nidoking were some of the "must-haves" for any team back in the Red-Blue version days - everyone knew those were safe bets. Then there were ones that more wise and seasoned players would see the value in, like Dragonite and Snorlax.

I always had a soft spot for Syther, though, even if he was useless as shit in a fight. He had blade arms, a dinosaur head, and insect wings, there were just so many layers of badass.

My friend and I have come up with a pitch for the next Pokemon game: we both felt that the whole breeding element introduced in the later iterations was a good start, but they should take it to another step. Instead of adding new pokemon, the next one would be all about crossbreeding them into various hybrids, and any two pokemon you combine would form a unique, distinct offspring. Blasrizards and Pikakazams and Onyxrados.

From there we decided that you would crossbreed the hybrids, which would yield even more complex offspring, and eventually every pokemon you had would be homogenized into a colossal Tetsuo-esque mass of quivering flesh and limbs like some sort of Lovecraftian horror, spraying out prismatic attacks of every type.

My team eventually ended up being 6 Mewtwo's on blue, what else do you need? But favorite from 1st gen, that would have to be Snorlax. I used my Masterball on him, obviously the best choice.
