Favorite boss fight was gLados because it wasn't really a boss fight. It was more a relaxing laugh and a look back on the fun you've had in the game...and also it was hella fun.
Second that.

My favorite boss fights were both in Shadow of the Colossus. The fight with Avion (4th colossus) was so exhilarating and awesome it remains my prime example as to why I game in the first place. A close second is the fight with Cenobia (14th colossus). It was so clever and so easy yet so difficult it summarized the concept of the whole game in a primetime of 2 minutes.

Psycho Mantis in MGS:Twin Snakes for the GameCube. He mindfucked me so hard, I couldn't play the game for a week.

Luca Blight from Suikoden 2 was pretty awesome, I still to this day remember the first time I beat him.

A lot of boss fights from FFXI were pretty epic. I liked the airship fight that was probably one of the hardest ones I've done. Fighting the Shadow Lord was pretty easy but the fight was nevertheless pretty awesome as well. My favorite bosses were the Ark Angels but they were definitely not my favorite fight haha.

Sephiroth from kingdom hearts 1. Kingdom hearts 2 sephiroth was easier. The fear when that music played...
Agreed, that music pumped me with adrenaline and at the same time paralysed me with fear. Am I being dramatic? Yep, but I speak the truth
I know what you mean. Its just like this natural reaction. If you here One Winged Angel in a game, you know that you are in for tough fight. Imagine my horror in the first game when I stumbled across him by complete accident at a low level.

Cat? That was a so clearly a bull. It had horns, hooves, it charged at you...

The fifth Colossus or Jubileus from Bayonetta for me.
It's "horns" come out of it's mouth. It was designed after Foo dogs, clearly not a bull.

EDIT: on topic, I suppose I would go with Colossus #12, #3 or #14. Every colossus is pretty awesome to fight, though... 'cept the damn turtle. I hate that guy.

I did that exact same thing in KH2, managed to drill away 3 of his HP bars then he killed me. I was excited for the fight at first then when he hit the first attack I panicked at attacked him when ever he got close but yeah.... it was futile.

but remember I think of the 14th as the dog (the one where you need him to knock over pillars) and this one as the cat.

Which turtle? the one with the geysers or the one you control by hitting the rocks on his head?

The only reason I didn't do that by accident was because I had a strategy guide, and it made a big deal of warning you not to go there below a certain level and skill. I don't really use strategy guides unless I want specific item locations etcetera, but man was I glad I had it there.

Giygas.

Scared the ever living out of me when I was younger, but still manages to intimidate me even in my old age.

The terrorist boss from the Silent Scope arcade game. After fighting the stupid cyborg secretary, it was nice to have the game decided by one shot, one kill.

A tie for me...

DMC3 - Vergil and Dante vs. Arkham. I don't care if it's fanboy-ish, two half demon, half human badasses taking on ANYTHING with the music that was playing during that fight kicked the most ass in that game.

Chrono Trigger - Lavos battle. Again, music was a big factor here and Lavos' 3 forms were nothing short of challenging. His Crying Heavans move during the 3rd fight really kept pissing me off as it was almost an instant death hit. Even more challenging is if you can go the entire 3 fights without once using an item while being at an average team level of 50-55. I haven't been able to accomplish that feat, yet.

Considering that there three serpent-inspired colossi and two minotaur-inspired colossi, I don't think it's unreasonable to state that they were both inspired by foo dogs.

That's the one. It's an appropriately epic fight, I've just had a lot of frustration with that one in particular.
