Hey man, that's a low blow; that's like bringing up the Kryptonite Mountain in Superman Returns or the armor nipples in Batman and Robin vs Mr. Freeze. But anyway, yeah even with his deal with the devil. I mean over the years you would think the series would get dry, but it hasn't. When I saw the Iron Spidey suit for the first time I almost lost it.

I don't know man.. There was a quote that really got to me that pertained to the Man of Steel. It went, "Why try to look up to Superman when you can relate so much to Spiderman? Can't you see Superman no one wants to LOOK UP to you anymore; we don't want to strain our necks." And ya know, it kinda true to this day.

For me, it's got to be Death from Sandman (and all of the Endless, really), Rorschach and Lobo...

Who's your favorite comic book character of all time?
Mine, would have to the Amazing/Spectaluar Spiderman. With his agility, strength, and spidersense its no contest, in my book, that he is the ultimate when it come to comic book heroes.
Wow. I can't believe you started a thread about favourite COMIC characters and picked Spider-Man. Can I ask if you have read any non-mainstream comics before? Or does this choice of Spider-Man as your favourite character take into consideration characters from comics like Preacher, Bone, 100 Bullets, Fables, etc...? I can't honestly believe it does...

Anyhow, my favourite? Tough to narrow down. I've always loved Destiny from Sandman, Rorschach, The Midnighter, Mitchell Hundred...
Wow guy, so angry, it's his choice whether or not he likes spider man, and really Sandman is non-mainstream? Or bone really, most of the people I went to school with had read either or (I've read Bone, gave up on sandman though, bored the hell out of me). I mean really, why do you find it so hard to believe that he has read anything out of spiderman? I mean what if I told you my favorite comic book character was Archie (it really isn't but it works for this situation) would you feel the nagging need to enlighten me about your wonderful "non-mainstream" series? Seriously, main-stream, non-mainstream they both work the same you'll find some you like and you'll find some you don't.

OP: As for a favorite it's a toss-up between a few: Johnny C. and the Happy Noodle Boy from Johnny the Homicidal maniac. Both Sam & Max from the comic of the same title, and Rick from the Walking Dead is pretty awesome. Also Roland Deschain from Marvel's Dark Tower comics, although that probably has more to do with the fact that the books by Stephen King were just so epic, either way he does have a comic so I will include it here.

Sorry for the rant and the wall of text, sometimes people piss me off, and I have a bit of a tendency to ramble

Edit: Batman's pretty badass too, or at least some of his depictions, my favorites are Alan Moore's and Frank Miller's

Jackie Estacado - a man who is pretty morally bankrupt, a killer by trade and yet somehow comes off as "the good guy" in relation to damn near everyone else (who isn't ruthlessly murdered for being to weak and innocent)

when I was younger it was the Punisher, hands down. He was ultra-marine-level hard-core tough, but had a method to the madness. Now, however, I don't know. The Watchmen's blue nudie speaks to me as I am trying to mesh Buddhist and western ideals.

Still, The Punisher is most assuredly someone who influenced my ideals of "what it means to be a man" when I was younger.

Superman. The people that dismiss him as overpowered, bland or unrelatable are probably the same people who've never read a decent Superman story in their lives.
This quote FOR THE WIN.

Im sick of people complaining about Supes being overpowered, what else do you expect from the greatest Superhero ever, YEA, i said it.

Plus theres characters like The Spectre and Doomsday who would have a good chance of beating superman, hey doomsday freakin killed him once.

Yes i agree, Spawn is completely awesome. I had a Spawn game for PS2 ages ago, it was actually really good.
