Considering Deadpool has had over 900 issues (even though a good chunk were with Cable), I'd like to think he holds his own pretty well.Red Hood said:I think Deadpool gets most of his fame from Cable, personally.
I wasn't actually angry, I just asked him if he had read more than just spiderman. He said he had and still liked him. Which is fine by me really. If I pissed you off with my post sorry. It tends to bother me a bit when people make choices without broadening their information first, which is why I asked him if this was the case in the first place.Forever of the Stars said:Wow guy, so angry, it's his choice whether or not he likes spider man, and really Sandman is non-mainstream? Or bone really, most of the people I went to school with had read either or (I've read Bone, gave up on sandman though, bored the hell out of me). I mean really, why do you find it so hard to believe that he has read anything out of spiderman? I mean what if I told you my favorite comic book character was Archie (it really isn't but it works for this situation) would you feel the nagging need to enlighten me about your wonderful "non-mainstream" series? Seriously, main-stream, non-mainstream they both work the same you'll find some you like and you'll find some you don't.BlindMessiah94 said:Wow. I can't believe you started a thread about favourite COMIC characters and picked Spider-Man. Can I ask if you have read any non-mainstream comics before? Or does this choice of Spider-Man as your favourite character take into consideration characters from comics like Preacher, Bone, 100 Bullets, Fables, etc...? I can't honestly believe it does...Red Hood said:Who's your favorite comic book character of all time?
Mine, would have to the Amazing/Spectaluar Spiderman. With his agility, strength, and spidersense its no contest, in my book, that he is the ultimate when it come to comic book heroes.
Anyhow, my favourite? Tough to narrow down. I've always loved Destiny from Sandman, Rorschach, The Midnighter, Mitchell Hundred...
OP: As for a favorite it's a toss-up between a few: Johnny C. and the Happy Noodle Boy from Johnny the Homicidal maniac. Both Sam & Max from the comic of the same title, and Rick from the Walking Dead is pretty awesome. Also Roland Deschain from Marvel's Dark Tower comics, although that probably has more to do with the fact that the books by Stephen King were just so epic, either way he does have a comic so I will include it here.
Sorry for the rant and the wall of text, sometimes people piss me off, and I have a bit of a tendency to ramble
Edit: Batman's pretty badass too, or at least some of his depictions, my favorites are Alan Moore's and Frank Miller's
It's all good man, I wasn't in a great mood yesterday and for some reason that grated on me.BlindMessiah94 said:I wasn't actually angry, I just asked him if he had read more than just spiderman. You can like pretty much anything you want as long as you have a "why" that makes some bit of sense behind it and isn't completely uninformed or biased, even if it's Archie or whoever.
And yes Sandman is not mainstream. If you walked down the street and asked 100 people if they heard of Sandman or Spiderman I'm sure a lot more would know who Spidey was than Sandman. That said I only mentioned it and comics like Bone (not necessarily because they are good comics) because they have unique characters in them.
I suppose I've just been in so many similar conversations with people talking about "Spider-Man" and other popular characters being the best who've never even read a comic before, so that's probably why my post was so...fervent.
No worries, glad we could be civil about it!Forever of the Stars said:It's all good man, I wasn't in a great mood yesterday and for some reason that grated on me.
