sonic adventure 2 battle.

Facing off against the Biolizard having fused himself with the ark as the super forms of both sonic as shadow with only 5 minutes to save the earth.

and to mention the kickass song going on in the background.
CURSE YOU NINJAAAAAAAA!

Although I must applaud you on your excellent choice. The entire end sequence to SA2B was great. Beating both light and dark campaigns only to find a final one, beating the collaboration mission in one sitting, defeating the Biolizard, then shouting 'Are you FREAKING kidding me' when Final-Hazard shows up.

..... If you can't tell, I really like that game.
You and me both. SA2B is one of my favourite games of all time. But I guess it's probably because I got to play as Eggman/Robotnik. (Not to mention the chao)

Nefarian in Black Wing Lair from vanilla WoW. Also Baron Geddon in MC.
Man WoW had some awesome boss battles.

Darth Malak for me. Easy if you know how but it still wrapped things up nicely and was challenging enough for my first time
It was indeed a great end game boss. My first time felt like an epic battle of attrition since i did not know the "easy way"

The Transcendent One from Planescape: Torment. In true Black Isle fashion, the best way to victory wasn't to resort to combat at all, but to use your wits as your offense. If you paid enough attention throughout the game, you could end up with him agreeing with your final choice. If not, he was a tough fucking boss.

Oddly enough, Gary from "Bully". Just a well realized, if stereotypical, character. No better foreshadowing than showing your ultimate villain dressed as a Gestapo for Halloween.

The last -- the actual last level of Fire Emblem.

Gah -- Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-

Edit : For everyone that hasn't played Fire Emblem(Play it you idiots) it is a level where you face all the main bosses of the game.... all of them!! Like 9, plus the final mega-boss, and a FUCKING DRAGON.

Suck on that, all other endings in the history of ever.

Beat me to it. :D

Such an amazing fight, I really felt like the entire galaxy hung upon the outcome itself, the epic music playing during the fight really adds to it. Ironically I think it would make a better duel in a film than any of the saga films.
Yeah, Malak was an awesome boss fight, especially as the game had spent so much time making him out to be a genuine threat to the galaxy and then you have this massive fight with him. Epic.

In contrast to the Sith Lords in the second game, who you know practically nothing off the whole game and one of whom is laughably easy to kill.

I'd have to go with Lucius from Fable 2, that was one of the most epic battles I've ever played. The sneaky way you have to dodge in the slight split second he fires his Will beam to reflect back at you and then while he's blinded by his own powers walk behind him and give him a monster wedgie...no wait, I dreamt that, huh.
Man, that was an anticlimactic ending. Especially if
You wait long enough for Reaver to shoot him, who says "Oh I'm sorry, did you you want to kill him" (or something to that effect)

OT: Probably Pixy in Ace Combat Zero; the music sets the scene and the fact he becomes really tricky towards the end (you have to attack him head-on) is frantic and fun. Well, that's the first one that comes to mind. Anyway, here's the awesome soundtrack from the level;

The vault monster from Borderlands was okay, it took FOREVER to kill that thing, but it made me feel like a badass when I got done. The loot wasn't the greatest though, but I was kinda okay with that.
Really? I Died twice and got so pissed that he dropped nothing good.

Might have to go with FF13's Orphan. I spent 6 hours on it before finally winning, and didn't feel frustrated, somehow.
Supposedly, there's some guy on youtube that killed orphan in 17 seconds. Or something like that.

I don't know, I enjoyed the dark brooding themes, besides poor old broken Kotor II can be given a nice bit of healthcare through a restored content mod and difficulty editors ;)

I enjoyed
fighting Wesker
in RE5. I was playing it with my girlfriend on the same couch and it was fantastic fun! Partly because there are many different phases and it takes so long, and partly because I like his voice acting and his taunts.

"There's no use in hiiiiiding" practically became a mini-meme in our house.

The strider assault in episode 2 is a pretty epic showdown. Probably one of my favourites. By and large I hate end boss fights though.
Probably this. It's one of the very few moments of gaming that got a literal air punch from me. (the only other I can remeber is beating the last story mission on f-zero gx on the hardest difficulty setting.)

Also, Portal 2 deserves a special mention for it's epic music, dialogue, hilarious personality cores and that ending. Overall I'd prefer it to those other two, even though it's much easier.

Any final boss(s) from any of the Metal Gear Solid games. From Liquid, to Solidus, to The Boss (okay, actually, Ocelot), and Liquid ocelot, the series always gets into a close combat situation where the results often surpass epic, with help from the beautiful music scores.

Liquid Ocelot has to be one of my favorite end-game bosses of all time.

...And if we get rid of the category of 'endgame', then, well, Metal Gear Solid wins and you know it.

I enjoyed KOTOR 2 as well, just not as much as KOTOR. Don't get me wrong; Kreia and Nihlus were brick hard (especially Kreia's floating lightsabers which usually turned into a Benny Hill moment because I'd get sliced apart otherwise). Sion though was a joke though because of his lack of defences against Force Powers and the fact all his powers and such are geared to buff him and debuffing you in combat, making the Force Crush stunlock a guaranteed win, so long as you have energy. I liked the fights, its just the bosses weren't really built up to, more ground up to with the excessive number of really tough minions who were occasionally tougher, especially the 'Rooms of Sith Lordy Death' in the Trayus academy. I never tried the restored content or mods and I doubt I will now; this current PC seems to dislike KOTOR and refuses to allow me to play it once its loaded.

Another thought: I found General Oliver at the end of New Vegas a tough challenge, mainly because he had an army of elite troops and traps between me and him. Ended up dying a lot and deciding I couldn't be bothered and so talked him into leaving.

Despite having played Metroid Fusion, Yoshi's Island, a couple of Pokémon games and other stuff you'd generally expect to have an epic end boss fight, I'm gonna have to give this award to Battlefield: Bad Company (original).

the simple fact that a modern war-setting game actually included an end boss fight was delightfully surprising and wins it many points - even if it WAS only a helicopter - but it was also a brilliant, very climactic boss fight that had my chest really pounding even on Normal. In contrast to BF:BC2, which had the worst ending ever IMO.

What class did you have? I guess the only reason I didn't die was because I used my Siren's ability like crazy and hide behind pillars when I had to fire. Was also probably the reason it took me forever to kill it.

I had a hunter and he kept killing me because of some spike thingy. I never knew what it was but it got me 2 times. And I was hiding behind the pillars =/

Darth Malak KotoR, that was a cool fight
Jack of Blades (human form) Fable, good ending
Dane Vogel Saint's Row 2, not only do you shoot him, he then falls out of a 20 story building!
