This is going to sound kinda of fanboyish, but:
I found throwing a knife into Shepherd's eye socket at the end of MW2 intensely satisfying if only because he had no reason to shoot Roach and Ghost in the first place. I have played the damn game twice and I still can't figure out why he needed to kill us to get the data, when we were giving it to him anyway. I mean, we were working for him the whole time, we hadn't even seen the data what made him so sure we needed to be killed, for no reason?

Definitely Andrew Ryan. Most compelling "bad guy" in any game I've ever played.

ANY grunts are my favourite, particularly when I'm an ultra-powerful overlord or something... and theres loads of them.

Mowing them down in droves is fun ^^

Funnily enough, in Mass Effect 1 I remember thinking, "Once I off Saren, I'm gonna have to take out these sick Cerberus fucks. They killed an Alliance Admiral and they were breeding Thorian Creepers and sentient Rachni for war."

Yeeeah... Fate is a cruel mistress.
I agree Cerberus is a really damn network I wish I can destroy it in ME3, well I also like Goombas and Sephiroth ofc.

My favorite enemy is either the Hildebear or the Rag Rappy from Phantasy Star online. They both are awesome.

We've all answered threads involving favorite characters in games but what about the enemies? The things we spend ours defeating? In the all the games you've played have you ever had a "favorite" enemy or enemies? The things you just love to hate. My favorite would have to be Helghan from Killzone. Who is/are your favorite?

Agree with the OP. Helghast will always be my favourites.
Thirded. Fight for the Higs!

However, I also feel that Republic Commando's Trandoshans are some pretty nasty buggers, who are awesome to fight.

The insane confederate general from Gun (I forget his name). Damn that guy rocked. The way he chose to die just set him head and shoulders above most villains.

Enclave soldiers, because keeping my Tesla Armor and plasma rifles in good repair is like Sam Adams beer. Always a good decision.

One of my favorite were the Elites from the Halo Franchise, I just liked their look, weapons and their general warrior culture. Luckily for me I'll be able to fight them again this year.

whats that vrex, i beat you to it? fuck yeah i did
Grrrrr, curses. I have been foiled.

Well, my answer is still going to be the Elites from Halo anyway, so yeah... even though you beat me to the punch I am certainly not bitterly planning any bloody revenge or anything like that. You beat me fair and square.

Still the Elites, they are awesome to fight, awesome as allies, look cool and have a great culture, the obvious choice for me.

Sephiroth because he wears a Matrix-style trenchcoat like those kids in Colorado and has long white hair that would totally piss my parents off if I had it too.

Do I have a favorite enemy? I probably have a favorite villain but I'm tired and need sleep right now. I don't remember there being enough enemy lightsaber users in KOTOR 2. I liked the flashy effects of getting my Jedi team against theirs. Then I blast them all with Force Lightning at the end.

Fourthed if we are going for a group of enemies, the Helghan army is cool for so many reasons.

If we are looking for an individual enemy my vote is for Kefka, damn I hated that guy, but as an enemy he is awesome. :)

I don't have a single favorite antagonist if you want me to be honest. I don't tend to get a soft spot for the dickhead that's trying to capture the princess and do everyone wrong.

Wow, you're the first person I've seen who has said what I've been saying all along: that plot twist makes no goddamn sense.

As for the topic at hand, I found Hunters in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 to be great enemies. They looked and sounded like nothing you'd seen before and just reeked of a malicious alien intelligence. They also had good AI and were designed to be able to find you and get to you no matter where you hid, so you couldn't just camp someplace. Sure, they weren't all that difficult to kill if you knew the best methods, but the game compensates for that by throwing about four of them at you at a time. It was very satisfying running them over with the car in the final battle. Striders were also really cool, and they were made even more cool by the fact that the music suddenly got more awesome every time they showed up.

Ridley from the Metroid series. I love fighting that devious bastard, and he always has that awesome theme when I fight him.

(Skip to about 0:18 for the music to finally start)
