Stealing this list, took out the two I don't agree with (Nebri and May), because it's basically the same as mine. Though I've liked Samus considerably less since the lame shit with the Zero Suit and Nintendo trying to oversexualize her.

Oh, and add Curly Brace from Cave Story. =o

Aaaugh yes, this Zero Suit stuff is driving me nuts. Before that most the fan art for her was considerably awesome with the occasional racy thing thrown in. Now I'm seeing a much higher rate of smutty art all because of that stupid Zero Suit, it's driving me nuts!

It's made me sad for The Other M since Team Ninja had to give Samus a rather ridiculously sized chest in the previews I had seen. Especially when you consider that it likely wouldn't fit in the original power suit if you pay attention to the profile. But hey, desire to make a female character a sex object usually trumps logic these days :|

Well, shall I state the obvious? It's Team Ninja. =p But yeah, not only did they bump up her cup size for no reason other than they are Team Ninja, they changed her hair to a pixie haircut that I really don't like. The ponytail may of been a little generic, but it was around since the first game so it's signature and I got used to it.

In general any female character that A) Isn't annoying as hell, B) Kicks ass without trying way too hard, C)Has something valuable to say, or nothing at all (Samus), and D)Isn't dressed like a complete skank.

God, Dragon Age has a good cast of females with Liliana and Morrigan, I'd pick Liliana though.

I've also had a soft spot for Flannary from Pokemon R/S/E

And Faith from Mirror's Edge isn't bad either (God, when you reflect on it, that was a REALLY feminist game. A female protagonist going around beating the crap out of males where it seems like everyone who isn't female in the game either gets killed it a totally over the top fashion by a female character, or gets kicked in the balls so hard that they'll never walk again!)

Never played The Force Unleashed or Perfect Dark but I can back you up on Shan, Valentine and Stroud.
