What is your favorite FF game?
Mine is XII. Why? Because it finally came up with something refreshing.

So far, out of all the FF games I have played, FF6 is still my favorite. An excellent cast of characters, an interesting story line, nice gameplay, hilarious localization and just an all around good game.

I also like FF2, and I seem to be alone on that. However, I still have yet to play 3,5,8,9,10,12 and 13, so who knows, my opinion could change after I play some of the others.

I actually like 2,6, and, of course, 7. I would be ostracized by my freinds if I didn't mention 7.

i liked 10. good fighting engine, excellent graphics (for the time anyway), (mostly) likeable characters and one of the best FF soundtracks ever. even though tidus was a whiny snot nosed brat, auron more than made up for him.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
Final Fantasy 6 is second.
If we're counting spinoffs, then I have to agree, CC is really awesome.

I just wish they'd give us a proper version that would allow for online co-op play. Like the GCN version, just with online capabilities.

Here here. The Wii and DS versions were pretty good

I liked 9 and 12 best so far. Mainly for the story progression and characters. Most FF characters are too cliche or I just don't like them. Well didn't really like 12's characters actually, just the story and battle system. But I loved 9 mainly for the characters. Wish they had voice acting in that game just to add to it.

I've only played 8 and some of 10. I love 8 and 10 was pretty fun, although it's been a while so I don't remember much besides Blitz Ball, which I kick ass at.

Those are my 5 favorites, in order.

I own XIII, but I've yet to even unwrap it.

Final Fantasy IV and Crystal Chronicles.

Then again, that's also the extent of my Final Fantasy experience, excluding the second and third Tactics titles and FFIII.

And I HATED III.

FFI (nostalgia goggles are probably firmly pressed to my face, but I sitll love the game more than any of the others), and Crystal Chronicles.

having played most of them, i would say 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 are the top 5 (although not necesarily in that order). 2 had potential but the mechanics were kinda borked. if you were good at the combat, you would frequently have to force yourself to play badly to get hp and def upgrades.

as for spin offs, i love FFTA and FFTA2, never had a chance to play FFT on the psx, but i've heard good things about it.

On the spinoff side, than Tactics A2, and on the primary series, I enjoy 6 with 4 being a close second. No angst for me than you!

You might like Vagrant Story as well, as the reason Final Fantasy XII was so different was that it was done by the team that did Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story.

The most well rounded and, in my opinion, best of the series is Final Fantasy VI. I do have to say that Final Fantasy XIII is surprising me constantly though... we'll see as I finish it. Probably not going to be the best, but definitely already better than I thought it would be.
