That is EXACTLY what I was going to put up. Dang, those were terrific!

I'm not sure if I can say "best of all time" one this, but without much thought, I really like "Left For Dead's" opening. It's intense, the voice acting is decent, and very importantly, it shows the necessary teamwork of the group, encounters with some of the special dead, and most importantly, the fact that none of them would have survived without the others.

The music that meant serious business back in theI would also include Mega Man 3, if only for the badass opening music, but ehre's no fancy opening animations, so ah well.

Seeing the landscape in Shadow Of The Colossus.
All hell breaks loose with zombies at the start of Dead Rising
The Indigo Prophecy murder.

The obvious choices of Bioshock and Mass Effect 2 for actual openings. And for video opening, Left 4 Dead. L4D's opening shows you everything you need to know in about 3 minutes time. Avoid witches, fear tanks, work together, RUN LIKE HELL.

Too bad that was the high point of the game.

Grrrrrr! I can't hold a grude though.... I loved it but it was the weakest from the ps1 era, (didn't stop it from being amazing, It's kind of like coming third in the greatest things ever IMHO).

Hands down, my favorite intro ever. Music, artwork, voiceover, everything is perfect. Then the transition into the in-engine cutscene and the launch. Pure glory!

For me, this will probably never be topped.
