Favorite Game intro of all time

The opening for God of War 3 is pretty fan-fucking-tastic.

Fallout one and two's intros were pretty memorable but I have to agree with Metal Gear Solid 3.

The cinematography, the sheer panic when you walk through the collapsing ship, the sudden silence and peace when you enter the command deck, Shepard falling out of the ship, normal breathing, faster breathing, frantic breating, no breathing, Shepard's lifeless body, logo fade in...

When I watched it the first time, I was unable to move. It always gives me shivers, even if it's the 20th time I watch it. Nothing will ever come close.

Yeah, it's so great. I had no idea that would happen either, because I had totally avoided any story related information about the game before I played. Brilliant visuals and sound used so well.

Bioshock - what can I say it was just pure win.

Borderlands - It set the tone for the entire game and gave me an awesome song for my iPod

Kingdom Hearts - It was just surreal and yet another great song

No More Heroes - The breaking of the fourth wall alone would guarantee a mention

Mass Effect 2 - SHEPARD!!!

Bayonetta - What are you standing on and why is it plummeting down a huge mountain?!?

Super Mario 64 - just made me wanna piss my pants in pure excitement seeing Mario in 3d!

Bioshock 2 - Hey don't put that....there. SHIT!

I like the openings that feel like your watching an intro to a tv show more then the ones that are just the starting point of the story. Dunno why exactly, they have the watch over and over again cool feeling.

I don't really pay much attention to intro's. I usually just watch it once when I first start up a game, and skip it after that. The intro to Left 4 Dead was pretty freaking awesome though.

Personnal favourite has to be Zelda:OoT, starting off with the night sky with Epona galloping across the horizon then taking a flight across Hyrule Field against the sunrise, only one word can descibe it: beautiful.

Agreed. The music was so serious and with lighting and thunder crashing... even the first menu screen where you just see Link riding Epona over the overworld... stunning.
