I was watchin' th'most recent episode of X-play where "In the spirit of Valentine's Day", they counted down the top 5 Video Game Romances...bein' somewhat of a twisted sap (my girlfriend gives me crap about it constantly, but she didn't complain 'bout the dozen Black Roses), i was lookin' forward to it...alas, i didn't agree with any of the pairs depicted (mostly cuz i hadn't played any of the games they mentioned)...i thought their list sucked, but for the life of me couldn't think of any myself that were genuinely good...the closest i could come up with was:
-Revan 'n' Bastilla: KotOR 1- i don't know if it really counts, but as somebody who always plays rpg's under the guise of "what would i do in this situation (if i had these powers, could hold my own in a fight, and wasn't a complete batman-obsessed-out-of-shape-nerd)", it made complete sense to me to side with the girl instead of the two jedi who were tellin' me how i have to "Keep my emotions in check".....here was a woman who wanted us to "embrace the power of our passions"....now THERE'S A KEEPER!!! I was damn-near the pinnacle of "Light Side" up to that point, then dropped to the dark side like a stone...ah, memories....
-Nero 'n' Kyrie: Devil May Cry 4-I know, i know, i'm goin' from bad to worse here, but i liked the story in DMC 4 damnit!!! The whole "loved her from afar for most of his life but never told her how he felt even though th'whole gorram world knew it", "saved the day got the girl", and "he's got a deformity which would make foreplay kinda a pain (literally, i mean c'mon, that hand?), but she's willin' to love him anyway? Who couldn't get into that?
So yeah, there's th'best i could come up with.....anybody got anything better?
