Favorite Game Romance

I must say while the whole romance aspect wasn't exactly working overall the Visa Marr scene were she beg the exile to stay and not fight Darth Nihilus touched me lot more than most romance storyline in game

Morrigan and Tali - their innocence are bliss.

Tali'Zorah is anything but innocent. She is a Survivalist. She may get flustered sometimes when talking to Shepard but at heart she is all about looking to the future and causality.

She bluffs a corporation into accepting a Quarian Slave by telling them she will summon the flotilla to blow them into dust. She also wants to kill the Rachni Queen without hesitation. She openly admits to wanting to commit mass genocide on the Geth multiple times (And she is loyal to her father to the point of accepting the consequences of treason rather than expose his work and sour his reputation.) She also doesn't bat an eye lash at Renegade Shepards actions, often times falling to the side of "They really deserved that."

I mean FEELINGS torward the main character..... sheesh.

Male Shepard/Miranda Lawson. They have an amazing love/hate relationship. The attraction between them almost burned my PC. The most badass romantic duo EVER. The badass hot-head/the cold *****. I have no idea how you can choose any other romance. The sexual tension between them is painfully obvious. Whenever I imagine the innocent, awkward Tali next to my Shepard, I fall off my chair from laughing.

Max Payne/Mona Sax. Tragic, fatal and unquestionably amazing. Those two complete and break each other at the same time.

Nathan Drake/Chloe Frazer. Oh god, I hate Elen. Drake/Chloe for the goddamn win. They can't have a normal conversation for two minutes without throwing in a sexual innuendo. How can you not love that?

Male Grey Warden/Morrigan. Those two were attracted to each other from the very start. The bastard and the *****. Goddamit, Morrigan, I WILL find you.

The romance sidequest between a female Commander Shepard and Garrus in Mass Effect 2. I've never been so touched by something in a game, especially a romance sidequest.

The fact that they may never be able to consummate their relationship the normal way is even more saddening. Bonus points if Garrus died while on the suicide mission...

In DA:O 2 the son of the witch. THAT WOULD BE EPIC! Because he would be even more overpowered than her... and an archdemon.... and is decked out with wolf fur and evil black armor... And can use Giant swords and magic.

It was touching to begin with, and then it all went downhill. I really wanted to slap Tifa for her independance breakdown.

I like to infer my own romances in games, or I play games that let me pick romantic choices. However, I absolutely love Elincia x Geoffrey in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. I'm glad he's the only romantic option for Elincia, seeing his selfless devotion towards her as a knight.

Crono and Marle, as well as Lucca and Robo in Chrono Trigger. Yes it's really old, but the storytelling was quite good for the era it came from.

I find it amusing to play though Kingdom Hearts II and pretend Kairi doesn't exist and scenes with her simply did not include her. And then to do your own version of Unskippable over scenes with Sora and Riku.

My wife always complains that the female romances are always god awful in Bioware games and she's right, but I guess if you are playing a female:

Main Character and Vhalen was not bad (NWN: Hordes)

I mean, really, Carth and Disciple? Kaiden Alenko? That Paladin in BG2? Wow, come on guys.

-Revan 'n' Bastilla: KotOR 1- i don't know if it really counts, but as somebody who always plays rpg's under the guise of "what would i do in this situation (if i had these powers, could hold my own in a fight, and wasn't a complete batman-obsessed-out-of-shape-nerd)", it made complete sense to me to side with the girl instead of the two jedi who were tellin' me how i have to "Keep my emotions in check".....here was a woman who wanted us to "embrace the power of our passions"....now THERE'S A KEEPER!!! I was damn-near the pinnacle of "Light Side" up to that point, then dropped to the dark side like a stone...ah, memories....

Meh, always liked Fem-Rev more, even when it comes to Bastila... The romance with her felt just forced (heh...), but I loved the dysfunctional pupil-master relationship between them when they have no romantic tension (her habit of annoying the hell out of Bastila seems actually genuine, instead of just teasing the girl you like).
It actually felt more significant at the end than the romance, when the moronic padawan she was supposed to look after comes to save her from herself... And kicks her ass a good couple times while at it. I just loved that dynamic.
(That is if you went Light Side, naturally.)
