Koudelka and the Shadow Hearts games.
Seconded, I actually bought one of my friends a freaking copy of Covenant because I loved the games that much and he still didn't play it. Still sad as all hell there won't be any more.

Katawa Shoujo.
I've recommended it to literally all of my friends and the conversation normally goes like this:
Me: You should play Katawa Shoujo, its realy godd and free
Them: What sort of game is it?
Me: its in the style of a Japanese visual novel, but its in English
Them: You mean one of those porn ones?
Me: well... yeah, but theres an option to turn that off
*most girls drop out here*
Me: Anyway, its sort of like a dating sim, but rather than generic hot chick with massive tits 1-5 all of the girls have disabilities and believable personalities rather than just "Your hot, fuck me"
Them: Disabilities?! What the fuck?!
*Conversation end*

Its really sad.

I HAD a friend who had never played Diablo 2 ... I said had 'cos well his soul is now lost to it.

Same thing with borderlands.

I am getting him hooked on a lot of stuff at the moment.

For me its pretty much all the games I've loved over the last few years.

Team Fortress 2
Ico & Shadow of the Colossus
Red Dead Redemption
Demon's Souls
Journey
Bastion
Dota 2

This upsets me.

My friends never play anything other than COD/Halo/Skyrim. I maintain that as an RPG, Skyrim is bad (it's good at other things, I just don't think that it's much of an RPG, ergo I don't find much enjoyment in it). And I don't care for the mindless shooting genre (well Halo can be pretty fun a lot of the time) so our tastes don't intersect a whole lot.

Therefore I'm going to have to go with Witcher 2 or inFamous 2. Neither are even close to being indie but I've never met anyone who's heard of either. Must be an Australian thing.

Sacrifice! [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacrifice_(video_game)] I don't know why more people haven't heard of this game. It was awesome.

Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. It's a damn shame too, because everyone needs to try this epic game at least once.
This is on my list, too! The whole odd series. I have Munch's Odyssey sitting on my desk in front of me right now, hehe.

It's gotta be Eschalon series for me. I mean, oldschool turnbased RPG thats pretty awesome. It was really a challenge to beat down, and defeating the main boss was super satisfactory. I love that game :)

For me, it's the PC game Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor. Not Heroes of Might and Magic. Every time I mention the game, people always go "OH! Heroes of Might and Magic?" NO! That is not what I mean!

Man, I was so happy when I found that cover art in one computer magazine as poster- It just screams badass from all angles.

The Resistance series.

The Escape Velocity series by Ambrosia.

Wonderfully addictive third-person (top-down) space shooters. Enormous universes, rich (if a bit poorly written) storylines, engaging visuals and sounds. Pity that I haven't met many people that have played them. :/

The Professor Layton series and Deus Ex: HR. My friends usually play multiplayer games like Call of Duty, Pokemon, Halo and any party game, like Mario Party, Mario Kart, Just Dance, Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

EDIT: Oh and the Fallout games. The ironic thing is they call themselves "unbiased gamers" even though they'll never touch an RPG.

Well, with a pitch like that, I sure as hell don't feel like playing it either! :p

Tenchu. Evidently, nobody in the entire world other than me plays Tenchu games. Oh and Disciples as well. I have a couple of friends that are HOMM players; no Disciples players though.
You are never the only one, I LOVE Tenchu.

OT: None of my friends are gamers

I'd say my friends have never even heard of a lot of the games I've got/played.

Asuras Wrath, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Shin Megami TenseiL Digital Devil Saga and Lucifers Call and the first four .Hack games are some that spring to mind immediately. And that's ignoring my library of Steam games or old PS1 games.

I'm torn between Odin Sphere and Persona 4. I have a bunch of friends who would have their own lists as well.

One has played all of the Wizardry games (made back when people had to handdraw maps instead of using minimaps). He never played Persona 4 however (and probably never will) because he always insists on starting at the earliest game and working his way up, regardless of how buggy or unplayable the earlier ones were.
