Second Sight was an underappreciated gem. Kinda easy as far as games go, but the plot was pretty tight and interesting and the mechanics were fun.

Uplink was also an awesome indie PC game that never got enough attention (Introversion games in general).
yes definatley second sight was awesome i enjoyed that much more than the more popular psi ops( which i also enjoyed :))
i enjoyed rouge galaxy tremendously but i seem to be the only one who has it

Did planescape torment do well? I don't think so. I'll also have to put in the lovingly crafted Wizardy 8, which, like freespace 2, was the last hurrah of the turn based/party rpg genry.

I'll dito psychonauts and Beyond Good and evil, and if it hasn't been mentioned yet: Sacrifice and to a lesser extent Homeworld. Two very cool RTS games that didn't get as much love as they deserve.

R.U.S.E., acronym didn't stand for anything but the gameplay is so well done the other issues like bland story can be forgiven. It actually brought new innovations to genre's, most RTS's just tend to be good based on the balance which I guess is enough but RUSE added so much more, mainly a bigger emphasis on deception. The main complaints I've heard was "It's not like CoH or other RTS's so it's bad", seriously got to Metacritic and that's the main complaint from negative reviews......Worst part is, I've heard about these people IRL! Like one of my friends friends like Halo Wars but hated RUSE because he said "It's not about the units it's about the ruses!".

It's still up and the MP servers aren't dead yet like Chromehounds was (shame I never played the multiplayer), but It's easily the funnest RTS I've played, I start playing other RTS's I used to like with mods even and I just get extremely bored.

I loved RUSE, and a friend of mine who hated RTS games loved it too

It added a new concept to the generic Make units. Spam base. Repeat. Win. formula

and to add a game to my own thread

Demons Souls!

Okami is hands down the one for me.
Other than that, Psychonauts and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus (better than Ico in sales but still...)

Seige of Avalon
Did we play the same Siege of Avalon? :/

And Alan Wake for me. I'm glad they didn't rush it because that could have ended similarly to Duke Nukem did, but it's delayed release and release date (same as Red Dead Redemption) did it no favors.

Transformers: War for Cybetron. With a bit more balancing, this could be a contender for favorite multiplayer of all time.
Heartily seconded, and I also loved every minute of the SP campaign. Yes, it was Hasbro's best-selling game of all time, but that's not saying much... as an independent entity it sadly still didn't sell all that well.

Nier.
Can't think of another game that did as poorly as Nier did but was simply amazing.
Unfortunate that the studio actually went out of business due to it. Wonderful game.
Certainly a game I enjoyed a lot more that I thought I would. Too bad the publishers apparently hired a marketing agency where substance abuse is mandatory for all employees.

OT: I also really liked Enslaved: Oddyssey to the West, which did pretty damn poorly when compared to projected sales figures. I'm actually replaying the game right now as research for my bachelor's thesis.

Thinking about it i'm not sure if it sold disasterously bad
but none of my friends have played it and it hardly ever gets mentioned here on the Escapist these days
so imma go for WET
by no means a great game
but it is a good game that sold badly (good in my own warped opinion i'm sure nobody agrees with)

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts.

Massively underrated game IMO. Shame it did so poorly that Rare has been relegated to casual Kinect games now.
Darn was going to say that. Poor Rare what happened to them, NaB has some really really good stuff and a sequel to fix a few of the problems (wierd physics and too many race challenges) could be utterly awesome.

Well, everything else I had in mind was already ninja'd.

So I'll say Rez on the Dreamcast and PS2 - it's a miracle that it was remade for XBLA.
Also, the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles games. Sure, they're not perfect, but they're fun little games.

Psychonauts is the first one that pops up. I really miss that game. I should buy it again. Also Kirby Air Ride. There's just such an adorable charm to it.

EDIT: Oh, oh, and the Sonic Adventure remakes for the Gamecube. Love them both. Still own them both.

Alan wake just such a great game but tanked due to Read dead
heh, interesting. I distinctly remember going to the store and weighing my purchase decision between Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake for a few minutes before finally deciding on Red Dead Redemption because I figured it would give me more game content for the dollar.

I should probably pick up Alan Wake some time. I think it's cheaper now.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River

It's got its flaws, but it's very good when played in co-op.

I hated that game, purely because i bought it when the PSN was down and had no one but myself to play it with. The AI teammates were dumb as shit, which is a shame cus i loved Dragon Rising and the AI guys in that actually followed orders.
