Chrono Trigger is definitely an all time high for me, though I was a really big fan of Diablo: Hellfire (The expansion made by Sierra)

Honorable Mentions for the original "Startropics" game released on the NES, "Earthbound"(SNES), and "Shining Force"(Genesis)

I am a super duper huge fan of the first Neverwinter Nights. That game was bomb, and the SDK is probably one of the best SDKs I have used.

That and Secret of Evermore. Sweet SNES game.

Psychonauts. One of the best games EVER.
It was one of the first "Xbox originals" on the Xbox market thing.. So it is :p
I managed to find an Xbox copy for 20 bucks... only to find out the only 360 in my house that I'm allowed to play doesn't have backwards compatibility. ~sadface~
Saaaaad :( everyone should be able to play Psyconauts when they want to.... :(
The game is worth me dropping another 30 to get an original Xbox.
Or get it at GOG and plug your Xbox controller in to a PC. Just about anything better than a netbook should play Psychonauts pretty well.

OT: *shrug* X-Com.

Legend of Dragoon. I love everything about it. I love it's triumphs. I love it's flaws. I love it as a whole.

Funny, my favorite game of all time is Kotor, which is not in this generation. So not that hard a choice. Other than that... not sure. Probably Half-Life 2. Or Age of Empires 2. Or Kirby Air Ride. Ugh, so many good games!

Jak II and Jak 3. (Yes, that's how they numbered them on the boxes, I know its not consistent.)

It was some of the best storytelling I encountered on the PS2, with a huge story planned over three games. I only list II and 3, because when Jak is a little 12-year old that can't talk, and not a badass 20-something year old with a goatee and a gunstaff, the game lacks a little oomph. The dialogue was great, I still maintain that the best cutscene in any game ever is when Daxter gets drunk in Krew's bar and starts telling him off. And near the end of 2 and throughout most of three, there were so many OSHI- revelation moments, that it reminded me of a really well-written fantasy series.

I loved the hell out of Megaman Legends 1 and 2 on the PSone. I played the second again to make sure it wasn't just nostalgia making it seem good. It was still awesome.
