Anybody but Miranda Keyes, I hate the idea of being ordered around by someone who looks like they are 12 years old.

I've never played Halo, but from seeing all the ads for it and hearing my friends talk about it, I'd have to go with the Covenant aliens. If I'm correct, some of them can turn invisable with the help of some kind of cloaking field, that kicks ass!

I'm a huge Halo fanboy with all of the novels. Kelly and Linda are great spartans, but my favorite character from the games I think is the Elite Spec Ops leader, known to many as "halfjaw."

"You are the Arbiter; the will of the Prophets. But these are my Elites. Their lives matter to me, yours does not."

He's the one that shows up to help you take the fight to the brutes near the very end of the Halo 2 campaign. The first time he shows up with a frickin' hunter pair. The second, with a tank.
Now, I like Sgt. Johnson as much as anyone. But on all the occasions that he's shown up with the cavalry, has he ever brought hunters?

Old Arbiter from Halo Wars. He's such a psychotic bastard, it's brilliant. Plus he dual wields energy swords which is awesome, and he's the only character in the series who would fit into a Mortal Kombat game. But new Arbiter is pretty cool too.

Half-Jaw because he's a cool character

And the marines in general, because some of the things they do pisses me off, but a lot of stuff they do is really funny, including some stuff they say

The Arbiter, no question. He was cool as an example of a good noble alien. So tough, so noble, so valiant. A true hero and people like him even though he's not a human. He is also one of the characters who has a real and very clear personality change over the course of the story. Starting out as a loyalist who tries to defend himself, then becoming a shadow of a creature overwhelmed by failure, then a slightly more deluded not understand the truth that then spread to questioning, then seeing the bad side of the covenant and completely loosing his loyalty and after that he was driven by revenge.
This is a rare thing in games, especially FPS's.

Also of course Masterchief and Cortana obviously, though they stay roughly the same way throughout the series, both however still have that charming chemistry between them.
someone has an alien crush...
its ok we dont judge

Captain Keys and Foe Hammer! She felt like your only true friend on that ring - she even went underground with you <3

Then maybe the black seargent from Aliens. Come on, somebody else must realise he seems to be *exactly* the same as the one from the movie! Also didn't we see him on Halo? He hugged and elite and got blown up if you completed it on legendary... Maybe it was his twin because they sounds sooo similar! ;)

Edit: and Guilty Spark, plain awsome :p just the way he sings as you fight off hordes flood.

Halo 2 Arbiter. The only character I really cared for or was interested in the entire series. Seeing him go from religious pawn to questioning his motives, to "those fuckers are gonna pay" was great. Had the most character out of anyone else in the games, well except Johnson.

Sgt. Johnson, Token Black Guy.

The Arbiter was my least favorite. He ruined the second game with that religious backstory crap. I want to play as the Chief, not side with the friggen Elites.
You have made yourself a powerful enemy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.183671-The-Sangheili-A-very-special-Vrex-review]

I kid really. It's not like I hold a bitter murderous grudge against the lowly humans of Earth for daring to consider themselves worthy on the same plain of existence as the Might of the Sangheili!

... it's totally not.

Well, most Halo 'fans' nowadays probably dont know who the hell I am talking about, but Captain Keyes is definatly one of my favorite. No, not Miranda, but her father.
(to explain, most people who say they are Halo fans are either multiplayer only people or never played the first thus would not be familiar with this Halo 1 only character)
i regret to agree with that fact that most halo fans nowadays only like the multiplayer or haven't played CE.

OT:Sgt. Johnson. Do i have to explain why?

Well, sign me up too, as I didn't like him either. Throughout the whole of halo 3, he just seemed to turn up when he wanted too, and was only really there so there could be a character for player 2. Shame, as I thought he was okay in the second...

Favorite Character is Buck, from ODST. He just seemed to be one of the faw most rounded characters in the game, and I'm extremely happy his voice is in firefight.

Alright, I suppose that counts, but I was looking for a character from the franchise, not from Machinima.
Funny enough, all the names for RvB were taken from default names in Halo: CE multiplayer, so in a way Caboose is a character in the Halo universe. RvB just did a fan expansion of the character. Kind of.

On topic, probably the Oracle. I love the way she speaks.

I kind of liked the inviso-Grunts in Halo 2, because not only were they allies, and Grunts, but they could also turn invisible. I really liked the Arbiter levels because I actually wanted to protect my allied units. Especially the ones that waddled.
