Favorite melee weapon in any game (or real life?)

Honestly, I like my SCA sword... a 34" long, 1.5" wide rattan stick with 2 layers of fibre-tape and 2 layers of hockey tape. It's about 4.5lbs, and I can basket-punch, if I'm not actually using it for SCA combat. In SCA combat, that's a no-no.

No, I prefer a lock-in-a-sock. It sounds better AND it would probably be more effective.

The simple, yet effective combat knife. It's an all round tool it can cut, crush (small things) and open stuff. Plus it's great for shanking unsuspecting enemies or as a last stand weapon.

I like Halberds, Glaives, Lances, (I really like polearms) Battle axes, Rapiers, and ban hammers.
I really like melee weapons in sci-fi games, but alas, ME2 will not have melee weapons.
