The cans of paint in Half Life 2. I remember throwing them at the zombies in desperation when I had nothing left to throw, and instead of seeing them injured, they continued towards me and had a nice finish of paint.

Pillows...
I played morrowind for the first time, and long before I ever got to the plot - something I never did, I found myself having a wierd facination for stealing every pillow in the region and putting them in a shack somewhere. I found it amusing when I stumbled on one particularly lady with a rat infestation, I immediately handled the rodents in her room and stole her pillows, then she told me they were in her store room upstairs...
....she made pillows for a living.
