I always rather liked Scizor :3

Sheena (Level 85 Female Scizor) led me through much of the Elite Four many times in Pearl before the cartridge went kaput

I will always have a special place for Lapras, because that was my very first pokemon card.

That said, I love Cyndiquil.
Syther and Pincer are in because I love praying mantises and stag beetles.
Kabutops and Haunter are just cool.
I love Wailord for his size. I name mine Hindenburg.

I actually thought Bonsly was adorable.

And speaking of Which, my favorite pokemon in terms of sheer cuteness is Spheal. Seriously. He kicks ass when it comes to cuteness. I think the best image of him is in Saphire Edition.

Umbreon,
Magneton,
Torkoal,
Blastoise;Wartortle;Squirtle,
Oddly enough, while dark is my favorite type, I just wish there were more good dark types.

Sneasel. Always thought that little guy was cool back when I used to play, but he was such a shitty Pokémon to use.

Sceptile and Wobbuffet get honorable mentions.

childhood nostalgia(spelling?)

and the fact that they dont carry rabies or....mange...

it would make capturing random animals fun!

You could ask that, but it's usually pretty obvious. It's either cuteness, coolness, they like its stats, etc., or the like it's form (i.e., I like turtles).

I think he was talking about the endividual selections, not the game... like why you'd like Charizard instead of Scyther.

Exactly. Flareon is my favorite for many reasons, hes so fluffy! And the fact that he is over-looked makes me feel a strong sense of pity that makes out bond stronger! Everyone uses Jolteon and Espeon...Flareon sits there as the worst Eevee evolution for actual battling. He has an ungodly attack stat, but a move-pool so bad that he can't even learn the Earthquake TM...I will still use him for something, though!

I'm slightly ashamed to say that one of the things that influences my own decisions is stats - most of my favorites can soak up hits like a sponge can soak up pools of bodily fluid (or water, I guess), pretty well without being legendary.
And as for Magneton, it's just...awkward enough for me to like it. I personally think it's a shame that its new evolution looks retarded.

Fuck your new fangled pokemon, Nidoking is forever king. The original 150 were infinitely better than all the new ones.

First of all, I like Giragarig. It's looks ridiculous enough to amuse me. And there are certainly SOME good new ones...like...um... ... .........
Well, it's true that I'm hard-pressed to find an example that isn't Leafeon or Glaceon (i.e. a variation on something that already exists), and I really wish they would stop making pure water-type fish that suck, because there's so many of them already. Sigh.

Y'know what they need to make? A fire/dragon. How can you not make a fire/dragon? That would've been an instinctive design choice in my book.
