it's ok The Madman. it closed after Halo Wars and we all know that tacking extremely large numbers on the end of legendary games like the Ages series is a crime.
The "Age of" series definitely gets my vote. The original AoE got me into PC gaming. My friends and I sometimes still play AoM for lols.
Honourable mention must go to Stronghold: Crusader. That was an epic RTS for its time, given it was technically part of the late AoE 2 / early AoM generation. Way ahead of its time.

I used to play warcraft 3 a lot but i gues im not best strategist so i always got my ass kicked but sides were switched in MY favorite RTS Stronghold crusader extreme, it is as much fun you get from RTS without really having strategy aspect. I just loved great castles, thousands of soliders dying at once, blitz on start of game... Well maybe there is some strategy but not as W3, starcraft etc. Another one would be heroes 3 but i think i dont have to comment that one.
Dune and World in Conflict. I've gotta pick up the Command and Conquer games and Starcraft though.
