Hey there escapist. Yesterday I was thinking about certain aspects that make me me. Above all were my habits and personality. When I thought about it even deeper, I found that what really formed that was some of the sayings that I go by everyday.

My favorite saying: "whatever happens, happens"

Sure simple on the outside, however, if you really think about it, then you realize that there are many meanings to this saying. First of all, how you only have so much power and once you have used that power, then the results can no longer be effected by you. The next meaning I got out of it was really to not worry about things. To put it into context (and to explain this reason) "Whatever happens, happens".

I am also looking for some other sayings that may be very true or have multiple reasons, so tell me escapist, what are some of your favorite sayings, and why?

There are so many, but the first one that comes to mind is this quote from BC2
"[...] the defecation hits the oscillation." (Available for use in many, many contexts.)

I have a few catchphrases if that's what you mean...

'I have no idea what's going' (to be used all the time)
'Who cares?' (also to be used all the time)
'In my defence I was bored and it was hilarious' (best excuse ever)

And now for a possibly deep one...

'Everything I ever did has lead me directly here... so no I wouldn't change a thing'

Don't bother with life, noone makes it out alive anyway.

Donn't need to put it in to context, because we all know it's true.

Gonna go with my fav from Tenacious D.
When something strikes you as gob-fuckingly amazing you simply exclaim "Fuck-a-luck-a-ding-dong" It simply rolls off the tongue.

"Some days you win, some days you lose, some days it rains." - Satchel Paige
"I'm not lazy, I just don't care." - Peter, Office Space
"All of the above are splendid reasons why YOU want me to do this, but you've yet to give me a reason why I would want to do this." - me, to numerous counselors, teachers, and other authority figures growing up.

I'm stealing all of those. Especially the last one. Seems like an awesome response even though they'll probably just end up putting out the "Find your own meaning in life!" crap.

Anyway, my favorite has to from George Carlin. "If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten."

+1 for "So it goes"

About five years ago I would say "Indeed!" a great deal, I have tried to wean myself off this though as I think it was annoying.

"Right, and this matters why exactly?"
I get a lot of trivial stuff and hypothetical scenarios tossed my way by people I know. You'd think they would learn after a while, huh?

The healthy human mind doesn't wake up in the morning thinking this is it's last day on Earth. But I think that's a luxury, not a curse. To know you are close to the end is a kind of freedom. A good time to take... inventory. Outgunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds on a suicide mission. But the sand and rocks here stained with thousands of years of warfare...They will remember us for this. Because out of our vast array of nightmares this is the one we have chosen for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: You. Will. Read this in my voice.

Liar. You'll never touch this thread again! Just like the others!

Why do you close your eyes when we make love?!?

*Cries*

OT: I find myself saying "I'm bad at what I do" mostly because it's true.
