crossbows from the halo series, as well as any weapon with freezing-abilities.

Could you be a little more specific, please? I don't think there were any crossbows in Halo.

That one cube-looking grenade from Turok on N64. You could either throw it and have all of the surrounding baddies sucked into a black hole, or have them sucked into a specific point and have them implode. The first time I yelled "THAT'S RIGHT ************!!!!!" at a screen.

Yeah, it's a great gun, but why a chainsaw of all things? Logically thinking, it's probably the dumbest thing you could put on the end of a gun. (Limited fuel supply, too noisy, too heavy, and let's not even go into getting shot in the fuel tank.)

Yeah, it's a great gun, but why a chainsaw of all things? Logically thinking, it's probably the dumbest thing you could put on the end of a gun. (Limited fuel supply, too noisy, too heavy, and let's not even go into getting shot in the fuel tank.)

Everyone has their weapon of choice in a game. They don't have to revolve around first person shooters. They can be weapons in fighting games or action games. What's your favorite weapon in a video game and why?

I liked the cerebral bore from Turok 2 because the projectile drilled the enemies brain out.

Excellent choice, just about any weapon from Turok 1 and 2.

To anyone who states SHOTGUN!, as the best weapon in any game, I urge you to try the Turok 2 shotgun with Shredder rounds, its shotgun exploding shell that ricochet's 3 or 4 times.

I forgot the name... I think "Farsight"... from Perfect Dark (N64) which could see through and shoot through everything.

I love that gun.

If anyone tried to sneak up on me while I used it, I whipped out the rocket launcher and blew them to kingdom come.

That was the best gun in that game for sure, my friends got so pissed at me...

My brother and his friend got mad when they saw me whip out the Farsight in any match. My response back then was "Its in the game so it's okay if I use it."

I suppose I would say that the chainsaw seems to me like a logical step up from standard bladed weapons. I also recall reading about bayonets being used, but not being able to cut through Locust skin, making the chainsaw a necessary progression.

BFG 9000 - all others need not apply. The anti-everything weapon - able to clear entire rooms in a single shot yet somehow safe enough to discharge at point blank range.

The Rocket launcher (doom, quake, quake 3 specifically) - the best friend you can ever ask for in a game.

The Experimental MIRV from Fallout 3. A mini Nuke launcher that shoots not one, but EIGHT mini nukes at once? Sign me up.

The Land-Shark gun from Armed and Dangerous was quite hilarious.

The Torque bow from Gears of War is great fun.

And the Gravity Gun, of course.

Come on guys. It's a big world out there, why stop at the silly guns? How about...

Link's Master Sword, especially Twilight Princess.
The Belmonts' Vampire Killer, because it's a goddamn whip.
Armads, the legendary axe Hector uses in Fire Emblem. It's as big as he is, and he's no shrimp.
Agni & Rudra from Devil May Cry 3, twin swords that emit wind and fire.
The Lunar Staff from Ninja Gaiden 2. When you level it up to max, it gets little spiked flail attachments on both ends, I really liked that.
Might as well throw in Kratos' Blades of Chaos for good measure.
And the sword you use in Shadow of the Colossus. It shows you where the colossus is located, points out its weak spots, and then stabs the colossus in said weak spots. Better than a fucking GPS.

For me it's the electrobolt plasmid in Bioshock because until you get more powerful plasmids and a tommygun/shotgun the one-two punch with the wrench is SO satisfying! Closely followed by, in that game, the Hypnotize Big Daddy plasmid - not a weapon you use as such but it's so good to set one of them on a load of splicers and see the fallout

I loved the crossbow in No One Lives Forever 2. Yeah, it's not the only game that lets you pin guys to the wall, but it's the first game I ever played with one.

I just remember using it on a guy and having to run around for a while, only to come across the body later and realize I'd pinned his head to the frickin wall!

I always get a kick out of shotguns, close up blowing ppl to pieces..
Also the nailgun in fallout 3, always fun to shot bodyparts off people and nailing em to the wall..

To sum up, whatever weapon that dismembers ppl gets me giggeling.. I like gore.. lol

Wave, Ice, Plasma, Power, Charge, Wide/Spazer beams.
Bombs, Power Bombs.
Missiles of various sorts, most notably Super and Ice, although Seeker Missiles are awesome.
Grapple Beam.
Boost Ball.
Screw. Motherfucking. Attack.

I think it was kinda stupid to give a female sexy blonde alienkiller an attack known as screw attack, maybe thats the reason for some strange things on the internet...

Anyway, nobody mentioned the redeemer?
It was funny, i was playing against the european champion of UT2003 1 v 7 and the only kill i got was because he oversaw the redeemer missile, awesome xD
