Well there's................. um..................... yeah I got nothing.
Wait after looking through the OP's list it seems Deadlock counts, so Deadlock is basically the only band with female vocals I listen to.
That's a shame, your missing out.

You should try to span your musical taste a bit, it's very rewarding trust me, especially when you come across a band which blows you away.

I recommend all of the bands listed there in my original post, even though I've only listened to a single song with a couple of them.
It's not like I've haven't tried it's just that I've never really liked female vocals that much, I like the faster more aggressive type of metal which female vocals never really fit in that well with the type of music I listen too but Deadlock does get closer than most except they have two singers one male and one female.

So it's not that I haven't tried it's just I never really liked female vocals, and I did at one point in time listen to most of the bands that are in the list but none of them really hooked me. some of them got a few good songs but nothing I'd listen to on a regular basis.

The Breeders
Arright. Kim Deal's band on the first post. I approve.

Now let's add Souxie and The Banshees to our list. And not just because she looks like Death of the Endless.

I nearly forgot about Whale - they're not technically brilliant, but there's just something so damn fun about them.

Senser had a male and female lead, don't know if that counts.

The 90s seemed to have a wealth of female lead bands, especially in the indie/britpop area, Garbage,Kenickie,Echobelly, Elastica, Catatonia, seemed to be an easy sell, nowadays, not so much.

I also fully agree with Jazoni

It is quite sad nowadays how easily is it for female artists to show off their sexuality a bit too much (cough Lady googas). I strongly believe Britney Spears destroyed the whole concept of strong female music in the late 90's, Which was then considered a turning point. Some people would say it was good for the industry, but i respectfully disagree. It brought sexism back into music again, even to a point where some people (notably male) became ignorant, and never listened to a single female singer.

(As the rest is only a few posts up from here :D )
It's a damn shame that women find it so hard to make it anywhere, whereas, outside of pop, you can look pretty average as a guy if you have the talent, although that's even worse than it used to be, would Meatloaf, Lemmy of Motorhead etc make it nowadays? Never mind looking back at women if we go back to JAzz greats like Etta Fitzgerald, I'm not trying to be unchivalrous, but I don't think she'd have made the cover of GQ or FHM magazine.

I imagine we, as a culture are missing out on tons of real talent partly because the guys in charge decide we won't buy the concept of music about love unless it's performed by the beautiful, and partly, because we won't.

Okay, admittedly the first two are the same person, only in a different band. I would have to say my favourite is Jack Off Jill. Their album Clear Hearts Grey Flowers is simply AMAZING from start to finish and is one of the very few albums I can listen to all the way through without skipping a single track. I couldn't think of many because they've already been posted, so I didn't want to repeat anything, but I hope my little contribution helps point someone to something they may not have heard before.

Nobody has mentioned Neko Case's solo work yet? I'm legitimately boggled. Fox Confessor Brings The Flood is hands-down my favorite album of the last decade. A few others that nobody's mentioned yet: Shonen Knife have been making joyously doofy, fun music for the last 20+ years now. Cibo Matto have basically nothing in common with Shonen Knife other than Japanese female lead singers - but Stereo Type A is an almost perfect album, from rock to trip-hop (and even a little leftover punk) and back again - and they're just starting to work on a followup, with a tour already scheduled for this summer; check 'em out if you get a chance, they're even more amazing live than on record. Michelle Shocked won't be to everyone's tastes, but she had a 3-4 album run in the late 80s that as far as I'm concerned sets the standards for modern folk (Arkansas Traveler, especially, is on my permanent playlist). OOIOO is more Japanese music, a bizarre sort of experimental prog (fronted by Boredoms drummer Yoshimi P-We - yes, *that* Yoshimi) that definitely won't be to everyone's tastes but is worth checking out. And her most recent stuff hasn't been quite as impressive, but Jean Grae is one of the few female rappers I know that can go line-for-line with the best men in the field - check out "What Would I Do" or "Lovesong" for some pretty fantastic examples.

Portishead.
This man got it right yo. One of the best bands ever.
A fine point, and electronica in general may be one of the genres that best makes use of female vocalists, going back to the 90s again, the Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Leftfield, all had truly anthemic tunes using wonderful female singers to hook the ears of the listeners.

I'd suggest Funny Break by Orbital, Leftfield's Original, and Alive Alone by the Chemical Brothers (with Beth Orton).

The only band I really listen to with a female singer (that wouldn't be painfully obvious) is Blood Red Shoes (They both sing, so it just depends on the song)
And she is so attractive :-0 ... oh, huh, what was I saying?
Yeah, bands...

Dirty Harry
Lacuna Coil
Leaves' Eyes
Nightwish
Otep
Rasputina
Sirenia
Straight Line Stitch

All the bands I can think of off the top of my head/while going through my itunes list. These women really are amazing singers. Sorry if a few of them have been mentioned before, but it did ask for favourites, and these are mine :p

I'd strongly recommend giving In This Moment a listen to.
