Well, everyone in this thread has already hit all the major ones, but here in Kansas City there's a local indie band called The Beautiful Bodies with a very talented frontwoman named Alicia Solo. In High School I was a fan of the ska band "Save Ferris," fronted by Monique Powell. Now she's in a smaller band called "The Mojo Wire" which is more blues inspired.

X-Ray Spex are a good punk band, just to add to the list, musically they sound very similar to the first two Iron Maiden Albums; Think Running Free.

I don't listen to that many female fronted bands, just Lacuna Coil (very occasionally these days), Girlschool, (who still kick ass live, saw them with Motorhead the year before last and I must say they all still look as great as ever) a bit of Lita Ford and Nightwish.

Thank you. Floor Jansen has the most versatile voice of any female singer in the goth/symphonic metal scene and she's an awesome frontwoman to boot.

All my favourites have been mentioned except Concrete Blonde. Jonette Napolitano's voice absolutely kills, and her basslines are fun to play too.
