I dunno who i'd pick out of Hetfield or Halford, obviously Halford is the better singer, but to pick my favourite I'm not sure. Both are spectacular live, James always bleeds into the music, and Rob has that soaring vocal range that you can audibly hear go into overdrive when he's live.

He has the greatest voice in heavy music, and he was once the greatest frontman in the world, say what you want about his voice/performance now, he is still better than most out there but not as good as he once was. Dunno about who is my current day favorite though. Maybe Chris Cornell from Soundgarden (And Audioslave/Temple of the Dog).
