What do you think? Tell me what your favourite Half Life, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike or Team Fortress 2 moments were.
I've had so many odd moment in CSS that it defies sanity. Only once have I even seen a CSS match end with the two last people killing each other at the same time.

Hitman Grant, I am sorry for forgetting Portal. I loved that game. Actually took me a while to complete due to me getting annoyed at one of the parts for a while. Still Alive is an amazing song. If it interests you it's by Jonathan Coulton. He also has a song called 'Your Brains' which appears on the jukeboxes in Left 4 Dead 2, which is equally as good. Go on YouTube and listen

The epic and random stories Ellis spouts on Left 4 Dead 2. He even has this one were he says...

"Did i tell you guys about the time me and my friend Keith fought our way down a burning building filled with zombies?............Oh wait...that was you guys!"

/facepalm.

Team Fortress 2. When you have a coherent and communicative team, it is just the greatest.

I recall getting 19 headshots in a row with the sniper. That was quite satisfying.

Me and my friend were playing L4D2 on the last level, and we managed to reach the helicopter, but the two AI teammates were still stuck on the bridge. We just decided to forget about them, but we realized we needed everyone at the chopper to finish. We had to fight three Tanks, several other Specials, and a ton of Common Infected while waiting for our them to die so we can finish the game. I made it with about ten health.

you know u could have just waited bout 2 minutes and the NPCs would have died? :p
shows ur attached to ur NPCs tho, and fair play fighting 3 tanks is pretty epic. i thought only 1 appeared on the bridge finale tho

Discovering "Re: Your Brains" on L4D2.
It is mandatory to turn it on every time we pass a Juke Box when I am playing with my friends.

It's the difficulty mixed with luck.
I've gotten 4 a few times on advanced when doing well.. Well we were doing well up until then.

My favourite moment in a Valve game was the first time I got pecked to death by one of those blind tentacle things. That whole section made me a little twitchy.

Team Fortress 2, 2Fort
Im a spy on the lower level inside the enemy base, decloaking behind an engineer hitting his sentry gun.
In relation to the entrance: If you are between the two doors, we were behind the wall you pass on your gith if you turn right.

I backstab the engineer, sap the sentry and dispenser, run around the corner and see two heavies, a medic and a pyro all facing the entrance. I manage to get all of them just as three teammates (medic heavy and soldier) come running through the entrance to see the second half of this.

The heavy actually stopped "Jesus man!".

Definetly most memorable.

Scavenger on L4D2, we needed 12 cans and the game was tied. While we were pouring the last can I screamed "CHARGER RIGHT BEHIND THE STATUE!!!" the charger charges and the game ends. How? he BARELY got it in before he got charged.

Team Fortress 2, any time on the Escapist servers.
Possibly prop hunt, possibly one of the melee nights, most likely not even an event.

How dare you! Gabe will smite you!

Kidding, I am not a worshipper. But be thankful that Gabe exists. Or else we wouldn't have fanboys like me and blasphemers like you

Ok, I know i might get burned on a stake for asking this, but who's Gabe?

Gabe Newell, guy in charge of VALVe.

Half-Life 2 was absolutely amazing on the first play through. Loved the uprising and just the overall feel of it.
Favorite moment: First time fighting a Strider. Dog runs off, youre left there with a a Strider that just walked over a wall. Looking for cover, more than likely your first thought would be the car near you. the Strider obliterates it. That laser. Holy shit.

In the l4d2 demo, the final safehouse was just around the corner when we had a tank, he incapped one of my friends, another got incapped by a spitter and the tank was pummeling the other one so I ran for my life to the saferoom, a meter away a charger came around the corner and downed me. It was hilarious. I'm sure there have been better ones than that but it's all I can think of right now, other than killing about a team of heavies, demomen and soldiers single-handedly has a scout.

I believe that Half Life 2 is one of the only FPSes, maybe even the ONLY one, to be able to combine story and gameplay successfully.
You might want to try playing smore games. Just sayin'

I can think of a good handful of games that combine story and gameplay 'successfully' and actually have pretty great stories that draw you in etc.
I think Bioshock did it better tbh and modern warfare one di it excellently
See? This guy came up with two good examples without even really trying, or delving into any games that didn't get heaps of praise or recognition.

Point. Proven.
