You're joking. Nearly mainstream? What type of exaggeration is that? Just because people on this particular site are familiar with them, does NOT make them mainstream. It just depends on where you go. On one of the sites I visit a great deal of people know about Haunting Ground, but that doesn't make it mainstream. But YOU don't know about it and suddenly it therefore deserves to be called obscure.s69-5 said:Most of these games are mentioned fairly regularly around here.
Honestly, I'm not even sure why you thought Enslaved, Odin Sphere, Shadow Hearts and Resonance of Fate and Trine are obscure at all. Those are so well known they're almost mainstream.
Klonoa: When a game has multiple sequels (between multiple console and handhelds) it ceases to be obscure.
Jet Set Radio - Okay, it was on the doomed Dreamcast but remains one of the most well known titles for that system. And it was then remade for XBox - so yeah, a little obscure - but has a strong cult following.
Power Stone: Again, Dreamcast. Again, ported to another system (PSP). Sequel then made for PSP. Again, a very strong cult following.
Siren, Obscure: Horror genre. I'm not a fan of that genre and my knowledge of it is admittedly limited. But I do recognize those titles nonetheless. They can't be all that Obscure (no pun intended) if I recognize.
Haunting Ground: You win with this one. Never heard of it.
Obscure = didn't have commercial success.
